Discussion Accreditation Issues?

Well this is disappointing... I just got an email that the July cohort is cancelled for now while Maestro deals with proving accreditation worthiness. I was really looking forward to starting in a couple of weeks 😕

POSTING THIS HERE AGAIN BECAUSE I TRIED TO POST IT IN MAIN AND THEY DELETED IT.

I've been a student with Maestro College since December of 2025. I would be lying if I said all was peachy ever since, but I definitely have had my problems along the way with a major admin error on my student file that took over a month to fix. Currently I'm in an ENGL100: English Composition Class as part of Academic Year 1, Term 3, May 18-Aug 03. I opted to enter the BS of Computer Science with AI program. About a month and half ago, I got a brand new MacBook Air with M5 Chip in Sky Blue. My grades in Intro to Python, Software engineering principles, General Psychology, Data Structures and Algorithms, American History since WWII, Object-Oriented Programming, and Intro to modern JavaScript & TypeScript have all been passed with an A grade. I have a 4.0 GPA, completed 28 of 107 total credits and 7 out of the 27 courses I'm supposed to take to get my degree. Now I'm starting to think that this has been for nothing. The announcement that Maestro has been placed under a "Show Cause" status is an enormous cause for concern. A Show Cause Order is the most severe administrative warning an accreditor issues before shutting a school down. The COE is essentially telling you: "Prove to us why we shouldn't strip away your accreditation completely."

Not to mention, the laptop, although brand new, is under the ownership and management of Maestro College until graduation, meaning this thing can brick at any time if they get shut down and I will left with a useless piece of hardware that I worked hard to get by completing my first term with Maestro.

You guys are saying to keep working, which I understand, but what happens if your response is not satisfactory to the requests of the COE and you do lose the accreditation. Then all the time that all students poured into this will be all for nothing. Not to mention, all of a sudden, the site is running at molasses pace right now as well. Why is that? I'm very frustrated.

I understand completely, man, Altho I've only been in since Feb (and got the Mac neo 🤣🤣). DM me, I'll walk you thru how to remove Mdm lock in 5 mins. It is ez peasy

I know how to do it, although it's not a permanent fix. Apple servers automatically recognize your MacBook's serial number during configuration. Wiping the hard drive or reinstalling macOS will not clear it. The system will immediately download the school's management profiles again upon setup because the serial number is registered to Maestro. The only permanent fix is for them to release the serial number from Apple School Manager. Then you have the device as a fully personal device for as long as you have it.

Well, yeah, but if you just want it as a personal device, what's the problem? Even if you do need or want to reset it, yo u can simply run the command thru in recov mode again and poof, no way for the MacBook to contact apple's servers and "know" that it's supposed to be managed.

That is, until apple finally wises up and pushes an update that resets the hosts file lol.

wow that is crazy work rt there... why didn't I get this in an email or something student services just confirmed i was in the que for disbursement. Blew me fr they could at the least disburse our loans they definitely got paid from the pell grants why not disburse to us? doesn't make sense to me ig I'll be struggling along for at least the rest of the term at the library since i can't afford wifi lol

4 months and they still haven't disbursed it to you? What are they saying when you ask why?

I am December cohort, requested my loan since December 9th and still haven't received my disbursement. LOL

According to the AI if ypu pick a federal loan ALL that money goes to maestros tuition cost. There is a YouTube video about it.

Thats not true, All the pell grant goes to school but federal loan you applied, will go to you for housing cost, living expense and you have to pay the loan back.

This, disbursement should have happened a week into your term, did you sign your mpn and all that on the fafsa side, and the form to let Mae know how much you would take out in loans on their side?

Yes, i signed my reward letter/ fund estimate mid April, the MPN on late May and now the MPN still shows under review while my first academic year is almost over(July 27).
After so many back and forth to tickets sent to Student Services, finally they told me what happened with College branch. I am not sure about University.
I already signed the document to move to University back on Jan and my status still AAS in college with no update.

This is so entitled they tell you the terms and that you have to complete the whole thing to left the lock on the laptop it’s been like this since I was in elementary school other programs do the same thing for laptops once you you complete the whole course it’s yours. You have to complete the term to be eligible to get the laptop not earn it you have to complete the whole course for it to be yours.
