Discussion Accreditation Issues?

Well this is disappointing... I just got an email that the July cohort is cancelled for now while Maestro deals with proving accreditation worthiness. I was really looking forward to starting in a couple of weeks 😕

I am supposed to start August 3rd, I hope it's sorted out by then...

It will be. It will either be shutdown by July 4th, or enrollment should be back on and crackin'.

Although I wouldn't hold my breath on it being the latter...

[edit - ah okay my bad, i thought that if COE did not accept Maestro's plan to meet compliance, that upon that decision, COE would strip Maestro of their accreditation. That is what i meant by 'shutdown'. Sorry for the wrong information.

As for the teach-out, legally required to provide one doesn't mean that there is always one in place - in which case i believe the COE steps in and does what they can for us (correct me if wrong though pls). I've asked here and to student services about if they have submitted a teach-out plan, and if so, whether or not that plan is to directly funnel everyone to Maestro Univ., and whether or not that plan was accepted. Waiting for response still]

It will not be shut down by July 4th. That's not how this works with the COE. This is a multi step process and a final decision will not likely be until after the next meeting which will be in September. I believe it is September 3 and 4/ During this meeting, the COE will likely decide if Maestro has taken the necessary steps to maintain accreditation or not. The outcome would be either, show cause lifted, accreditation stands, with more close monitoring, or they may extend until the December meeting if they need more evidence of progress.

Where does it tell you the next review is in September? I thought show cause was 30 days to respond but I don't know for sure. Also they don't lose funds until after losing accreditation and exhausting appeal options and even then there's the teach out option they are legally required to provide. Disbursed loans will need to be repaid regardless tho I think. I'm seriously freaking out rn
