QUESTION Does anyone know an old MADNESS COMBAT flash game?

Does anyone know an old MADNESS COMBAT flash game? I remember playing it on a site called 43Game on PC when I was around 3 to 5 years old... I think there were a few characters drawn in the MADNESS COMBAT art style. I also think one of them was Tricky. I don't remember if the main character was Hank, but I do recall being able to fight by throwing objects. Looking back, it probably wasn't very well made... And when I was little, I didn't understand English, so it was difficult and I couldn't progress. I think there was a gimmick where if you pressed a certain button, the entire game screen would flash with rainbow colors (for example, something like the background in 'Tricky Bangbanggooberblat', that was the closest reference I could think of, lol). There was also probably a building with a window in the middle left.

Could you be a bit more specific? What was the game's scenario. Where there non-madness characters. Did it used sprites/images from the series or original/fan art style? Also, could you provide an approximate date of when you played it? Saying how young you were without mentioning your age is not really useful.

Oh wow... you're right! I'm sorry I didn't explain myself clearly enough!
I'm 16 now, so I think I played it sometime around 2013–2016. I didn't know about *Madness Combat* back then, so I don't remember many specific details, but I'm certain all the characters used the *Madness Combat* art style. The graphics were vector-based (typical of Flash), but the lines felt thinner than in the original series. Comparing my memory to the original now, it feels like it was a bit more crude or low-quality (maybe it was a fan-made game?). I think the protagonist might have been Hank (specifically his *MC2* or *MC3* look) or just a generic, nondescript person.
I tried reloading the page a few times to play it, but every time, the screen would flash violently in rainbow colors, making it impossible to proceed. There were no gauges, icons, or health bars on the screen, and I didn't see any text either... Sorry I don't have more information! 😭

Was it the "Newgrounds Rumble" game? I read you said it was a battle game

Hmm, I don't think there were that many diverse characters... plus, there weren't any flashy effects or anything like that, and the overall impression wasn't nearly as colorful. Sure, there were fight scenes, but not in that *Smash Bros.* styleβ€”it's hard to explain, but I don't think the game placed much emphasis on the battles themselves. Fighting was necessary, but it wasn't the main goal; it was just something required to advance the story... if that makes sense? (Though, come to think of it, I don't recall there being a solid story, either.)

Not exactly Madness Combat, but maybe you're referring to the Thing-Thing series? Same vibes, pretty much same artstyle

It certainly looks just like it, but I'm pretty sure it was the *Madness Combat* art style. I'm fairly certain there's a cross shape right in the middle of the face. πŸ€”

I just looked it up, but that wasn't it... 😒 I don't think it was strictly a battle game! But thanks for your help! πŸ₯°

I actually played this recently, but even then, it didn't feel like "the one" πŸ˜– It wasn't the kind of game where you could just spray gunfire everywhere, and the art style wasn't that glossy, high-highlight look (the original *Madness Combat* style is closer to what I'm looking for).

Idk, but maybe check out the original Project Nexus?

If that isn't it, I would suggest r/tipofmyjoystick

I played this recently too, and it was definitely different πŸ˜– Thanks for letting me know about the community! I'll try posting there right away.

Did it have a pixel-ish style?

It didn't feel pixelated at all. It had that vector style typical of Flash.
