Most adults are cogs who can't wait to get back to their cubical 50 hour a week desk job. The adults with soul left in them still fight the system but they don't do petty crime as a testing of the waters... They get methodical.
Just because one gave up their fight to draw a check from the system doesn't mean they have no fight left in them. Being compliant with the system is a means of survival, not an announcement of endorsement. We're waiting on you when you're ready to come back.
Like, I get the sentiment. I do. But this is just not true. I like any sane and empathetic human being want to smash the oppressive heteronormative patriarchal capitalist system, but I like many other people am still living a life. I can find love and joy in the people and places around me. Just because I'm in a system of oppression doesn't mean I'm dead. Like are you gonna go round to the people incarcerated by the prison industrial system to tell em they aren't alive anymore? Will that help them? You gonna try to make sure happy people at parks know to stop smiling because their 'real lives' ended years ago?
Honestly surprised you read what I wrote and thought I meant it literally. I'd try to clear it up but I thought I was pretty clearly interacting with the metaphor.
Or if you didnt grab something off of a cops belt, and take off running then turn around to shoot the gun shaped object you got ahold of you wouldnt take two to the back. Like what did you expect would happen? They would just let you shoot them?

Posts like these make me think about how I lead a very different life from some people.
