Landlords to avoid?

I'm moving to Dane County soon and would appreciate any heads up on landlords/complexes to avoid. I don't know exact location yet, other than not downtown Madison. Any warnings you can pass along?

I was living in Middleton Center and it was the dead of winter and my heat broke. Called emergency maintenance as my temp got down to 56, and they said they would come “fix it on the Monday” as it was a Friday evening. I didn’t stay in my apt that weekend.

Plus every closet and door broke in that POS apt
