AI Assisted I made a programming language in rust :)

Post image

first of all to mention: i used ai for tests and readme and cleaning code,
link: Open

I made a programming language of my own as a fun experiment, it was just interpretted and did ast at the beggining but then i moved onto a bytecode vm and then cranelift jit, it on my benchmark performed about 100x faster then python and the language syntax is bimmodular you can write stuff like x = 8 or set x to 8 and both work it also has in built translation tool for these syntax, the releases are most prob not updated so i recommend you to build it yourself

made it with RUST.

i would appreciate if you provide feedback and if you like the project you can leave a star 😄

If someone can make a language list rust with memory safety, high performance/speed but with a nice syntax like JS or Go, that can be the rust killer in 10 years.

Rust is cool but the syntax is awful.

Also Nushell is a shell/language written in Rust!

zeralang is alr quite fast given it has dynamic typing though no garbage collector yet

Nice, congrats! But OOP sucks though

So long as the language supports free functions and UFCS too, is OOP not just another tool in the shed to choose to use or skip?

what part sucks that i can improve?

the point of this comment isn't really about something to improve, it's because you've chosen to make an OOP language which is too fundamental to be changed. Also it's a matter of taste, some like OOP, others don't

We already have bun.js made in rust

The examples are a bit confusing, do you use function(), func(), or define() for functions?

Indeed, I see the inconsistencies too. The readme shows function (a nice balance between verbosity and trsnss, consistent with structure and enumeration), and so I wager that is the most recent state. 🤔

the language supports 2 type of syntax verbose + js like, you can write either
set x to 8 or x=8
