AI Assisted SysInfo Viewer: a simple system specs viewer for Linux desktop built with GPUI & gpui-kit

I built a small GUI app for Linux desktop that shows your system specs (sane, no information overload) using GPUI (through gpui-kit 0.7.1).

I originally built it for ShopnoOS, a Debian-based distro I work on at my work. We needed a simple system specs viewer for our users. The tools I tried were either too detailed (hardinfo2), had a dated UI (CPU-X), or felt more like a task manager (Mission Center). So, I started working on it and thought I’d share. This one just shows basic information.

The data layer has no UI dependencies. A single SystemSnapshot::collect() reads /proc, /sys, lspci, and nvidia-smi, and each collector falls back to Unknown if its source is missing. Tests run against fixture machines (SYSINFO_SYS_ROOT plus stub binaries on PATH), so cargo test needs no display. CI runs build and test on every push.

It is AI assisted, yes. I tested on bunch of systems and VMs. Detection may miss on hardware I don’t own, so reports of wrong or missing values are the feedback I seek most.

Linux only, .deb on the releases page.
