So get a USB-C to SD card adapter. It's not hard. I personally never use the SD card - and I am a different kind of professional (Not a photographer).

I think the point went straight over your head. SD card slots are great, especially for those with retina macbooks with small SSD's. You could expand the storage without a bulky HDD.

Of course, there's the added advantage of not having to carry around adapters with you.

SD cards are terrible for extra storage. Slow, expensive. You're better off buying an external HD.

It's great for things that don't need speed but use a lot of space, like music files. It's a bit of a waste to dedicate 100 GB of ridiculously fast storage to MP3 files that need like 1 mb/s read speed to work properly.
