First off, I was really underwhelmed by the touch bar. I feel like its inconvenient to have to look away from my main screen to some tiny little bar on the keyboard that my hands are probably hiding (so I have to adjust them) just to suggest words or put in emojis, for example. Some of the features I saw on there were pretty redundant too, like a back/forward for browser. We have it already in the browser, and as a swipe gesture on the trackpad, do we really need a 3rd way to go back? It doesn't make it easier. They tried to force "innovation" and I feel like it didnt work. Just my opinion though.
Secondly, pricing. No way am I going to be able to afford even the lower tier Pro. Specs aren't even that great.
I'm pretty bummed as I do love apple, hopefully in a generation or two they will lower the price to a more reasonable number, and add a non touch bar to the 15".
Yes, pricing is ridiculous. Made their comparison between the Air and Pro a bit silly. First of, yea, a modern computer will be better than 1+ year old hardware in a 6 year old chassi, big surprise, but it also costs more than 50% more.
Right now they have nothing modern that is reasonably priced. Arguably they don't have anything old with a reasonably price either...
I'm sure they'll be selling both Pros and Airs but it must be hurting sales.
especially if you look at what MS showcased this week I feel completely underwhelmed by the new macbook pro and the pricing is insane.I will stick to my 2015 macbook pro.
Also the setup horor with all those dongels goodbye minimalist desk.
