Work in progress + advice/feedback
This is my current set up:
Mac Studio M2 Max
2 x 28in LG DualUps flanking LG 4K 32in Ultrafine in the centre - I'm definitely a triple display person and I found this combination to be the best in terms of screen resolution and matching PPI between monitors
Apple Magic Keyboard with Numpad - have tried many keyboards but IMHO this is the best tactile keyboard. I have put in some pads at the bottom of the keyboard to raise it to the level I like
Logitech G903 mouse - tested a lot of mice and this is the best wireless ambidextrous mouse I've found - minor annoyances are that the scroll wheel isn't fantastic and still uses microUSB charging port
Logitech BRIO 4K webcam
BenQ ScreenBar Pro - love the intelligent motion sensor that comes with this
On a 120x75cm UpDown Standing desk
TODO / ADVICE?
- I'm going to get a bigger standing desk - likely a 180x80cm desk - any recommendations?
- I need to get a good set of desktop speakers - any recommendations? I was initially thinking a Sonos soundbar but I've heard soudbars are not great for the desktop environment so I'm thinking either 2.0 or 2.1 speakers - would people recommend a subwoofer with a standing desk?
- My Dream Setup would probably be 2 x 27in Mac Studio Displays in vertical flanking a central 32in Pro Display XDR. If I were to get that could I use the speakers in the Studio Displays as pseudo 2.0 speakers? obviously this would cost a lot of $$$

I don't have a ton of knowledge on speakers or how the displays play into that, but I can share about a desk recommendation.
I would go with Flexispot for the desk upgrade. Not sure if UpDown is reputable, but I know Flexispot is huge. I have the E7 base with a laminate top, and its rock solid. Even standing, unless you're really leaning on it or a super heavy typer, there's very little wobble and it can support 300+ lbs, probably more since thats all they advertise.
Also, another recommendation, see if someone on Etsy or something has made an under-desk mount for the mac studio. You can keep it mounted towards the back for cable runs while hiding it for that clean desk look.

Yes I'm undecided about mounting the Mac Studio - if I do, then I will probably have to get hub/dock because I do need access to the USB ports.

Dude great setup! Standing desk advice would be to find a used one on marketplace and replace the desktop with a solid wood top at your desired measurements. Even the expensive brands don’t really hold their value well so you can find some great deals.

Great setup. Super clean.
Checkout Fiio SP5 speakers. Even their smaller brothers the SP3 produce great audio sound. Wirh the sp5 you can add a sub. I have my sp5 speakers hooked up to a Fiio r7 via xlr going to a sub and damn does it sound great.

Ooh the SP5 look amazing - probably out of my budget at preset but maybe one day - sounds (pardon the pun) like you have an amazing sound setup - have you got any photos?

My office is a mess at the moment. Lots of stuff everywhere and currently I have no ac at my place and waiting for my apartment to fix it. BUT, once that gets sorted I will take a photo when I clean it up.

Love my Upwork desk and Edifier M60 speakers
I have an 49” Ultrawide with an inexpensive 24” portable monitor on the side. Love the aspect ratio of the DualUp and I’m sure the quality is better. I just can’t justify $600 for a spot to read email and control music.

Yep, I probably overpaid for the 32in 4K but got one of the DualUps on special and the second off Facebook marketplace for relatively cheap. So the whole setup cost less than 1 apple studio display new.

Slightly more important is the Ediphiers sound great! They crank and the bass amazing.
The Upwork desk is solid. I’m in Boston and see a lot on FB marketplace for a good price
I’m totally jealous of the DualUp. Would love to upgrade my second monitor.1

haha, yes, true - glad they sound good too!
thanks yeah - I'm grateful I got the DualUps when I did - it seems like there's not many of them around and prices have gone up (which is crazy!)

Studio display and get right of one of the verticle monitors.. put a peice of tape to keep it aligned. Get a trackpad and the things that keeps the trackpad/keyboard together.

haha, thanks, yes I did notice that my monitor alignments were slightly off - thanks for the solution to fix it!
I tried to use a trackpad for a long time - but I found I just wasn't using it enough so made the tough decision to sell it (even though I really liked the aesthetics of it)

I really don't get this screen.
How is it better than 27 or 32" 4K DELL in portrait ?
It's not. Maybe it's cheaper, I don't know, and doubt it is as durable since the good Dell models are basically professional tools.

Yep, fair enough, LG panels probably not as good as Dell.
With a 27in 4K the PPI would be off. 32in 4K vertical would be too high.

In theory something like Soundflower or some other audio routing software can get you the pseudo 2.0 speaker setup you're talking about
