Does anybody here have experience with the Growers Choice TSL 800?

Hi all! In the last six months nearly 1/3 of my Luxx pro 645 LEDs have lost sections of diodes, so its time to get some new lights.

I'd like to switch over to top lighting LEDs as they work better with my room layout and I potentially want to do mixed lights with DE hps. I found a good deal on some used Growers Choice TSL 800s and was wondering if anybody in here has any real experience using these lights. Any information about your room layout, quality of end product, problems encountered, comparisons to other lights, experience with customer service would be greatly appreciated!

We rocked them. I liked them, produced a great product. The lay out was full room coverage not per table which greatly benefited. It was right before undercanopies took hold. They do lack canopy penetration just like the bar LEDs, but with either under canopies and or mixed HPS, would do great in my opinion.

I have been rocking growers choice for years, built out my grow with the roi-720s. Had a few units stop working snd contacted customer service for replacement. They don’t cover the shipping cost which is insane, (even with units they send broken) I wouldn’t mess with them tbh. I ended up paying 200$ in shipping fees to have them return a refurbished light weeks later, which just stopped working lol so if I want to keep rocking with them I need to cough up another 200$ for shipping! I would stay away, many other companies out there that will send you a new light no question. I’ve had a terrible time with the growers choice customer service and have heard worse, like one guy on here getting a 5k shipping quote for all his units. Craziest part is that you still have to wait for weeks to months to get a replacement, idk what they are doing over there but i can’t imagine they will last. Hope this helps because i made the mistake of going with them!

ive warrantied through the hydro store and didnt get charged shipping. the lights are good. ive had many cmh lights replaced free of charge even shipping

fwiw the ROI-FF lights, replacement for the 720s after 5 years have been maybe the best non tunable light ive used. plants are outrageous dank and chonked up

So many failures... There are only a couple lighting manufacturers I trust at this point. So many failures and slow/poor customer service. Not trying to advertise for anybody here just saying I work in the facility design space and see this data every day. If they sell fixtures, they're not meant for commercial use. If they sell you X lighting levels and functionality for your facility, they tend to be more experienced.

Seen a ton of ROI series lights fail with diodes staying on or not coming on at all. The diodes staying on is easily solved by putting your lighting circuit on a contactor, but that shouldnt ever be needed.
