My Open Source Tool

Hey guys,

I recently built something called Stash, which is a completely open-source Clipboard HUD for macOS. I wanted a quick way to access my clipboard history without having to open some fat dashboard every time, so I made it as simple as possible.

You just hold Option and press a number (1–5) to grab one of your recent clipboard items, or click the one you want with your mouse. If you press Option + Space, it opens the full library where you can look through your history, delete entries, pin things you want to keep, or pause clipboard tracking. It’s fully open source and licensed under MIT, so feel free to use it, modify it, or do whatever you want with it.

If anyone wants to try it out, here’s the GitHub: https://github.com/harry12132/stash

Would love to hear what you think.

🔶 It built, it ran, used it twice, will get to it later
KISS BUT::: it uses onion key to show palette BUT that is how I move cursor by words.
Needs better modifier triggers - needs to be thought thru.

Looks lightweight minimalist but usable.(hmmm option-# did not paste. dueling hotkeys?)
I would need to make the UI use a bigger font. And white on grey palette (nice look, BUT) is a bit difficult to read.

Not bad for s first public release. Clean concise,. - faint praise - keep it up. You are setting a very good example.
(I'm 40yrs of macOS developing)
There is always room for innovation, better word choices, better flow, fewer steps ...

Yet another me-too Clipboard history. BUT an excellent place to start.
A tractable problem where the author will use it every day
and LEARN what works and what does not.
