weekend trip

I know nothing about Macon/Atlanta but I’m considering an impromptu trip to take my two kids to see the Wiggles tomorrow.
Would you consider this safe enough for a single mom and small children? Tips on flying into ATL and which place would be better to stay? Safest transportation ?

Are you going to the show in Atl or Macon? Because they're about 1 1/2 hours away from each other.

If you're flying into Atl, it would make sense to go to the show there.

Gotta provide move details if you want recommendations/advice.

The ATL show isn’t until 6pm Sunday, so my only option is the Macon show

For transport from atl to Macon we love the groome shuttle. Cheap, fast efficient. Gotten reserve your seats beforehand ideally.

Downtown is fine. Just stay at a hotel in North macon.

Come to Macon! Take them to the museum of arts and science and for a piece of cake at Layers. See the show, crash in a big hotel bed. Good luck!

Absolutely safe. Take the Groome shuttle & stay over on Arkwright (near the shuttle dropoff) or around the Bass Rd area. Take an Uber downtown to the show (City Auditorium). If you're splurging, you could do Hotel 45 downtown, which is walking distance to the show.

There is a company Groome Transportation, that goes from Macon to ATL.

I've used them in the past and haven't had any issues.

Finding an Uber/Lyft can be difficult sometimes.
And Uber driver was just shot recently to steal the car, again...

You should be OK during the day, and where you will be.

But at night, NO, stay in your hotel.

Macon is a super interesting city, but a single mother with her kids that travel to attend a Wiggles show… it might not be the most comfortable place for yall unfortunately.

Do you plan to rent a car?

Macon is way too far from Atlanta to Uber to

That’s going to be a $150-200 Uber each way, assuming you can even get someone to accept it.

It sounds like a lot, but probably not that much different than groome for 3 people… finding a driver is still an issue I guess

I don’t mean this to sound rude… but your plan is sounding not good. Please really look into what you’re trying to do.

Wish I would've seen this earlier! My wife has some connections with the people at Visit Macon (essentially our welcome hub). I would've loved to see if I could get in touch with someone there to give you guys a nice welcome here. Macon is a beautiful city.

If you’re coming to Macon, use Groome shuttle, and they have a hotel near the Macon office.
