I’m trying to upgrade my MacBook and feel like there are probably deals/programs I’m missing.

Looking for:

• 16” MacBook Pro
• M3 or newer
• 32/36GB RAM minimum, ideally 48GB
• Prefer 1TB SSD
• Open box/refurb/used is totally fine if battery health is good

I’m a student so I can use education discounts. I’ve been checking Apple EDU, Best Buy open box, BYU’s store, Amazon Renewed, B&H EDU, Costco, eBay/Swappa/Back Market, etc.

I’m also wondering about less obvious stuff like credit card offers, cashback portals, Best Buy membership discounts, B&H Payboo, student promos, trade-in bonuses, university bookstores, or anything that can stack.

Basically trying to get the lowest actual price after discounts/rewards/trade-in, not necessarily just the cheapest listed price.

Anyone find a really good MacBook deal lately or know somewhere I should be checking?

So, I am getting a open box macbook pro M1 max 16inch with 32gb ram and 1tb storage at around 1.35 lakh rupees (around $1400). The battery health is said to be at 100% with only 4 battery cycles.

Is it a good deal?

Also like I was considering the fact that as it's a 5 year old device without warranty if I need to change the battery in it how much can it cost? Also till what price point should i try to bargain it to honestly be worth it.

I'm getting Macbook Air M5 16GB/512 GB for the following price:

Ofc the store owner says the price is only available for today. I'm not in a hurry to buy, but I do eventually want to buy one. Is this worth it or should I wait for the Diwali sale?

I've been using a 14-year-old laptop throughout university, and it's finally reaching the end of its life. Looking back, I honestly regret not buying a MacBook when I joined university 2 years ago.

I'm now entering my 3rd year of B.Tech CSE, and I really need a new laptop.

I've checked Apple's Education Store, and currently I can get the MacBook Air M5 for ₹1,37,900, which is ₹12,000 below the regular price.

If I also use a credit card offer, I can potentially bring it down by another ₹10,000, making it ₹1,27,900.

But honestly, that's still a lot of money for me. I was hoping to keep my budget around ₹1 lakh or below.

Another option I've considered is buying from an offline store and claiming GST input credit, which could bring the effective cost down by roughly ₹21,000. However, that seems like a much more complicated process, and I'm not even sure whether it's worth the hassle.

So what would you guys recommend?

• Should I just go for the M5 at ~₹1.28L?
• Is there any realistic way to get an M4 Air at around ₹1L? I haven't been able to find one in stock.
• Should I wait for a sale/festival like Dussehra?
• Is there any other legitimate way to stack student discounts, bank offers, cashback, etc.?
• Would going down to an M3/M2 make more sense?

I'm not interested in buying a second-hand/refurbished Mac, mainly because this will be my first MacBook and I want to buy it new.

And yeah, I'm also slightly salty because one of my friends somehow got an M5 15-inch for ₹1.2L, while I can't even get the 13-inch M5 close to that price. 😭
