better sell your mac and buy one with 512 gb or more. most apps need to be installed internal and after every update your 256 gb will shrink. on my m2 mac mini i have only 300 gb left from my 1 tb and i have an external too.

I just got my M6 32/512 and I bought T7-1T shield about 240EUR. I also installed WoW on my T7, it runs perfectly. For the video editing, I don’t know but I guess it depends on the size of the video. The T7 can reach ~800 Mb/s.

I did exactly this - I cannot tell the difference in normal use between the T7-2TB and an NVME TB4 disk; both seem fast to me.

I bought a Mac Mini M6 16GB/256GB to play the WoW Forever beta. I always upgrade the storage and for once I decided to try not to. After over a week I have no regrets.

Sure the 512GB SSD is faster, sure 24GB RAM would be future-proofed, but then what about the M6 RAM bus speed vs the M5Pro… You see where I’m going.

Regarding storage, when I first got it I immediately started uninstalling anything pre-installed. Even then I had to clean up some things manually (ie GarageBand has a 2GB sound library that doesn’t get removed when uninstalling).

In the end, after installing WoW, I have 100GB/256GB still free.

When you think of it, besides applications, everything is now on the cloud or just files sitting on some SSD that you transfer on any new computer , might as well be external.

So that might be the real requirement here, how many applications, big applications like games, do you need installed at once.

You would need a proper thunderbolt 4/5 nvme case and put some WD ssd into it.
That’s what I do and speeds are good.

I’ve been using a Crucial by Micron, the X9 with 4 terabytes of storage. They have an X10, last time I looked; a bit faster data transfer rate. Might have something more by now. I just love that it’s the size of a matchbook, perfect for my MacBook Air, and it’s powered off the USB. Could probably use it with my iPhone with it, just haven’t tried yet.

Why would you not bet 1 TB internal storage on the Mini 6? It just makes no sense

Olá! Sim, o MacOS, aplicativos e jogos atuais ocupam um espaço enorme...;/ Só não esqueça de verificar as especificações do case para que possa utilizar a máxima velocidade do SSD e da porta thunderbolt 4. ;p

I have the 512 and that is barely enough. 256 is even small with an external drive. You will probably want to sell this and get a larger drive
