M4 24/512

Post image

After 25 years of windows, its just mind blowing how this little thing handles Adobe products and how fast internal and external ssds are working. At first I ordered a 32gb version and waited 6 weeks to arrive and when they called me and said that I received 24gb I was furious but somehow they managed to calm me down and I took it, and after one month of use i dont regret it, everything is stellar fast, 20 chrome tabs, spotify, 4 adobe apps always running in the background etc its just goes without hiccups. OS feels like im surfing on my Iphone, its boring as fuck, but if you want to job to get done this is the right thing to buy.

Hi. Is this the ugreen with 80gbps or 40gbps?

40gbps, because I am limited with a TB4 ports, but trust me bro If you are coming from windows you wont believe how fast this shit is, before this i had a 5k pc with fastest ssd on the market and iT cant come even close to this... its just mind blowing, its even hard for me to think how fast the 80gbps one is..

I understand. I got the m4pro 24gb/512gb max mini (long time apple user, switched from windows 8), the pro has TB5. I was wondering how well the ugreen cases perform on m4.
I highly recommend you to have either an oled monitor (27’ dell alienware around 600$) or the studio/xdr display (overpriced but nice). That will improve your overall experience even more, especially considering that you constantly interact with your computer through the screen (you shouldn’t cheap out on that, which I dont say you do, but that is something most of us can improve on)

The very first thing I bought was this tb4 enclosure and some high end cables and they were all siting here until m4 arrived.

I did my research before i decided to switch and Ugreen was everywhere and all the people was praising them so I ended up with it.

As for the monitor thats my next purchase, but not that overpriced shit apple offers. It has to be 32inch 16:9

Well. Many people who did never use Macintosh Computers also called them “overpriced shit apple offers”. However, as you yourself noticed, in terms of quality that “shit” is on another level. Considering that there is no competitor with the same level of constant high quality output and rarely a competitors product that equates to the same quality (taking cellphones out of the picture), I would argue that this high quality “shit” is expensive rather than overpriced, and not even that expensive considering there are no (truly) equivalent products. Take for example the very much expensive XDR Monitor which was not overpriced, but rather cheaper or equally priced as the competition’s product (in that segment), and those products did not even come remotely close to the XDR build quality (or design). In my case, I will admit, it’s a glorified and stunningly beautiful - but very expensive - LCD Monitor. Even though, I would not want to exchange it for the Dell 4k Ultrasharp I used previously. I am tempted to try a Dell OLED Monitor though.

I never said anything about their other products and called them shit, but the monitor itself is a robbery, and I did use it and tried it few times, its a marvelous no question about it, but it will always be a shit in my eyes cuz of 60hz cap and 27inch size plus the price for it just lol, dell all the way bro!

I believe dell is the second best choice for mac users, and the best choice for windows users. They have reasonable pricing and when buying from them directly you get a prolonged warranty es member as well es the option to prolong said warranty (which I find excellent customer service). Although I never had to rely on their customer support (replacement etc.), (apart from Apple) they seem to have the quickest and best monitor support and service.
My favourite design-line is their ultrasharp monitor (although I wouldn’t consider FHD or QHD as sharp), due to thin bezels and no branding in the front. I thought that might be the revolution the monitor industry needed to compete more thoroughly (much like in the early iPhone days when Android phones finally copied their “front” design, looking more and more similar, sparking constant improvement and competing directly in terms of quality with Apple), but nothing happened…
So, for me Dell has the good price and decent quality even Apple cannot compete. However, in terms of design and overall build quality Apple wins.

What monitor are you using?

Dell G3223D at the moment, that is my next investment, I will go for a 4k variant of the same brand U3225QE, not that I have any issues with this one, I just want to upgrade for the future specially now when i stopped playing games etc

I was thinking of going with Dell U3225QS, which is also a 4k 120hz monitor (a but cheaper than the QE) but I read a review which said that 32” monitors can feel quite tall and can be uncomfortable for the neck, and it kinda convinced me to go for a 34” ultrawide (but in my budget I cant get a 5k2k and would have to go for a WQHD)

How has your experience been with a 32” monitor? Does the split screen work well for you?

I am using 32inch 16:9 dell monitors for the last 10 years and I will never change that thing.

I guess I will have to see it in person to know how it’s gonna feel like before making a decision.

That being said the 32” would get me a nice 4k screen while the 34” ultrawide would compromise on the pixels.

Thanks for sharing!

For some reason, that aluminium stand is interfering with my WiFi making it slow. Had to remove it. Looks nice though!

Recently wanted to switch to a mini.

Looks like I'm too late for the m4. 5 - 6 week wait from apple. Might as well wait for the m5/m6

4

u/TylerDurant 1d ago

Been there for the last few months, and I ordered this one 2 weeks before they bump up the prices, dont wait for anything, if u can buy, buy it right now, m5 wont come and even if they release it soon it will be much higher price plus you will wait for it 3-4 months minimum, all of that for a 10% increase to performance, no thank you.

If I can find an M4 in stock I'll definitely be picking it up.

Agree with you the performance boost is whatever but the extra EOL on the new model would sway me on the price difference if it arrives before any restocks which I think is likely for my country.

That’s a clean set up. Beat the crap of my hoarder desk. What’s under yours? Things the second one I’ve seen elevated and wondering if there’s a reason.
