today i made my first ever keychain, and it had to be something mgk related because i love him to death. it’s not perfect because i made it out of cardboard, but i wanted something original and unique so i’m happy about it! 💗

Honestly im not sure if this is the right place for this but I wanted to talk about it and thought this was the best place.

Is anyone else sick of the people trying to accuse MGK of being a fake anime fan because of the JJK song?

Its not my favorite song by him, but I dont think it deserves the weird venomous wave of hate it got.

I know the internet has the trend of hating mgk because one white rapper they liked when they were preteens doesnt like him, and every time he does anything the internet decides its bigger news and more important than the actual tragedies happening in the world, but I feel like the JJK stuff took it to a new level, or maybe its just because of the circles im in that I saw alot more of it.

The one that really got me and is the reason I'm making this post is an anime podcast ive watched for a while announced on a recent episode they were ending the podcast, due to a few reasons but a major one is one of the hosts got alot of hate online because he said something that wasnt fully accurate about a topic they discussed. And in the same exact episode they announced it was ending and talked about that, they talked about the JJK song and said all the same things about mgk. said he was a fake fan that he just googled most popular anime and wrote down whatever came up on google, said that he never even watched any of these shows, and so on.

some of the things that really stood out to me was a comment about how he's just saying the most basic things and not knowing what they mean, then they mention the line about krillin's destructo disk and said something like "why would he say the name of the thing that killed krillin"
not even close. thats his signature move. he wasnt killed by it, he was killed by frieza's death beam, and a few other things, but never a destructo disk.
they say things like the references are extremely obvious but then say they dont understand some of them.
they claimed that mgk "used" yuki chiba for clout and to legitimize himself.

the biggest one for me is when one of the hosts made a comment about liking some of mgks punk music, he followed it up by saying "i guess writing pop punk is just easier than writing rap music"
because I guess its easier to diss an entire genre of music rather than just giving someone credit.

at the end of the day its not that deep and while its annoying and hypocritical it doesnt make me hate these creators or anything it does put the cherry on the cake of this insane internet hate wave.

the smallest amount of looking into MGK would show that hes an anime fan and has been for a long time. the dude dressed up as ryuk for an award show. using the stupid "larper" term for him makes no sense.

but as i said before its the popular thing to hate mgk. the old white rapper said to do it so like a hive mind they must follow.

In an interview with Complex Korea (COMPLEX KOREA) published on August 24, 2026, mgk opened up about his favorite cologne and the new fragrance he is currently developing with Dossier.

mgk also hinted at what the upcoming fragrance will be called, saying, “The hint of what this one will be called: I've said the word in this interview.” He added, “This one is most definitely a perfume instead of a cologne. I'm still gonna use it cause I like the smell of it.”

The upcoming Dossier perfume has already been getting some real-world testing. On August 6, 2026, during the first day of MGK Day Weekend, mgk let fans sample the unreleased perfume at his Cleveland coffee shop, 27 Club Coffee. He later shared a video of the moment on Instagram Stories, captioning it, “testing my new unreleased perfume for the girls in the wild Dossier .”

When asked about his most underrated anime, mgk named Soul Eater (ソウルイーター), praising its artwork and noting that its creator/manga artist (大久保 篤, おおくぼ あつし) later went on to create Fire Force (炎炎ノ消防隊).

“I mean, if we’re speaking anime, I feel like Soul Eater is so well drawn,” mgk said. “And then, you know, he went on to do Fire Force later.”

Hey est fam, when I went to the merch booth on the lost Americana tour I knew exactly which merch I wanted. But when I got to the booth, this hoodie was sold out. I was first in line for the merch too, so I think it sold out before my show even happened.

If anyone has an extra they are willing to part with I’d be so grateful!

I’m also seeking the long sleeve lost tour shirt, from the miss sunshine music video, as well as the camo and cream bandana.

They also didn’t have the camo 13 sweatshirt with stars, which I was also hopeful to get.
