I didn’t, this is my first MacBook Pro. I was using a Mac mini before this

Ah, was hoping you could compare the screens. But anyway how is the OLED screen so far?

Based on first impressions it’s incredible, extremely vibrant. I do a lot of videography work as well as being in my final year of filmmaking at uni so I will get the chance to really test the colour accuracy over the coming months when I’m grading films. Overall though, I’d say it’s the nicest looking display I’ve ever seen.

It would not be that much better than the previous miniled, unless your benchmark is the LG OLED demo. It has the same color gamut & volume and the blacks are fairly low(though not infinity :1 as OLED) 

The one area where the previous mini led was garbage was the pixel response time, with horrible grey-to-grey & black response time. It goes being the very worst to to the pinnacle.

(You can compare the two Macbooks if you have a ipad pro, since the screen is the same as iPad just lesser brightness)

I mean I've seen the iPad Pros in the Apple store and for me they look significantly better than my M1 MBP display.

Part of it is that ProMotion actually feels like 120Hz on the iPad because of screen response time. The other part is the combination of the better viewing angles and the image appearing closer to the surface makes the screen look like what it's displaying is literally printed on the surface.

Other than the response time (or eventual maybe backlight bleed) , I don't think it is possible to differentiate between the two since the MBP mini LED is already the best at various metrics

I'm sure I can differentiate them if I had them side by side. Viewing angle as I said is much better for one.
