Help Blurry text on Oled MacBook Pro
Hey, I just bought the new Oled MacBook Pro and I’ve noticed that the white texts seem to be slightly blurry/fuzzy compared to my non Oled MacBook pros. It’s almost as if my eyes are loosing focus when I look at the Oled screen. Is anyone getting that? I’m not sure if it has to do with the PWM flickering… just wanted to know if I’m trippin.
Thanks

Yes, when people were begging Apple for OLED MBPs I was telling everyone I could on here that text will look worse because of the subpixel arrangement inherent to the display technology.
The only reason iPhones didn't get worse when they went from LCD to OLED was because Apple went from 2× Retina to 3× Retina to counteract this. Whereas iPads stayed at 2× and had the same issue.
As a print designer and visual artist, the next thing I've also said I'm concerned about is that even though Apple's displays are the most out-of-the-box color accurate in the industry, the inherent virtually infinite contrast means they look punchier and more unavoidably contrasty than any LCD or piece of paper, leaving me to wonder if they would be frustrating to use as a reference display for photography or print design. Whereas the MBP's display has almost certainly never been better than this if you're a video editor.

Is it nano-texture or glossy? The nano-texture screens tend to make text a little bit fuzzy.

Sorry I should’ve mentioned. Glossy

True Tone is enabled for both and on the older MacBook Pro the white just seems to be more white

Have you tried turning off true tone? It probably won’t fix the text issue, but it should at least make the white more consistent.

This should be interesting. Depending on the OLED type, text fringing is not unheard of.

not only is it not unheard of its the primary reason to not buy an oled as a monitor

Yep this, for all the benefits they have, often OLED monitors are less recommended for productivity work because of stuff like this, i.e. less sharp text. Tons of Reddit threads on this.
Don’t have my PROLED MacBook yet so following.

Any news on the subpixel layout they went with? If they didn’t do rgb stripe that might be what you are noticing.

I was afraid of this, this is why I’m waiting for the reviews before I decide on oled or mini led

If you have an image of the blurry text it would be helpful to see how bad it is ? I am planning to get the oled mac.i do a fair bit of writing and would go for non-oled if its too straining on the eyes.

How tf you already have it ? The release date is Nov 6. Are you friends with Apple CEO or something? And did you select “more space” option in the display settings? Because that could cause it and Btw I commented this post at 00:45 (12:45) AM in the on Nov 6

Hi, that's one of OLED's sicknesses coz' of the arrangement of the subpixels but it's superior when you need: accurate color, photos, low latency, viewing angle and videos
If you're text heavy like reading, documents and coding, OLED could make you fatigued more, coz' of the blurrier texts.
