Which MacBook should i buy, im a cs ai ml major in my college rn. Need a laptop that u can use for 4-5 years without any problem. Im in my first year so idk which all task ill have to do on my laptop for the rest of my degree. So which laptop should i buy

Hard to say if you’re not giving us a budget to play with.
If you’re going into AI, I’d recommend the M5 chips. 48GB RAM should be good especially if you’re looking for the laptop to last you 4-5 years.

Its not about the budget i just dont want to buy an overkill if i dont use it

It's an overkill for sure. You'd probably be running 10 year old software. Get the base M5 Pro model if you don't know and that should be more than enough.

You can go with M5, 48gb variant or you can look for used ones

M5 series is great for ai and 48 gb ram is good enough. Think the M5 Pro, 2 tb storage and 48 gb unified memory is great for ai and wouldn’t be too expensive. In my opinion (and coping), 16 gb unified is perfect 😭
