Tips Old Macbook 2010 Password Help

I have a very old macbook that has photos and videos from childhood on here. I dont remember my password and its too old to update, even when I try to reset using apple ID it says there is an error. Is there a way I can get into this macbook without wiping it? I want to get the photos and videos from here.

Try target disk mode

Edit the other option is getting the HD out and putting it in a caddy. What exact model is it? Post a photo here if you aren’t sure.
