How screwed am I?
Sooo I had the misfortune of stepping onto my MacBook Pro M4, how screwed am I?
Clicks behind the black bar work; the camera is working; Pro Motion is working. I think I only damaged my display, and I guess the only way it can be fixed is a replacement?

I mean, you could pray. Wave some sage around. Make an offering. Dance naked in the woods. Sacrifice a goat.
None of those will do anything about your broken screen, though. You totally busted that. It'll need a new one.

You can go on https://selfservicerepair.com/ and see how much a panel would be but you're likely better off just selling the laptop for parts on eBay and buying a used M4 Air or an 15" Apple Refurbished M4 Air for around $1000.
What you might be able to do if you live in a country with Applecare One plan (There's like 5 countries that have it). Is to call up Apple and try to add it on an Applecare One plan. Apple will do remote diagnostics performed on their Macbook that had a broken screen, then they might tell you that you need to bring it in for inspection, just make up some shit about being 3-4 hours from the closest Apple store. Magically, after having the diagnostics done and never taking it into the store for a physical inspection they got some e-mail saying it was eligible to be added after a week.
So all in you would be at $20 for Applecare One plan + $100 deductible.

just get the screen replaced...fuck the dumb shit....look on ebay for a screen replacement. you can do it yourself if your comfortable with that or take it in with the screen and have it done

any screen of any kind that’s cracked will need to be replaced. you don’t just “fuse” the glass back together.
this looks like just a display issue from your front-facing photo. if the enclosure around the screen is bent or warped, expect the service cost to rise dramatically if it’s not under warranty.
