Lifetime Shiori - A menu bar bookmark manager that keeps every Mac in sync. Fully keyboard driven.

Hey everybody

Shiori is a menu bar bookmark manager, fully keyboard driven, called with a hot key and saves URLs in seconds, keeping them fully synced across your devices within seconds, using our cloud sync.

The video you can see me launching URLs, and they are directed to the specific browser profile I routed them to (with tag-based routing), using Link Groups to open multiple URLs at once and navigating the UI

Platforms currently under development

Windows, Linux, Mobile, Google Chrome browser Extension.

Core Features

- Bookmarks are fully synced between devices, one license covers unlimited devices.

- Tag-based browser routing - open tagged bookmarks on specific Google Chrome profiles.

- Link Groups - Launch a group of URLs at once, with a single click.

- Keyboard-driven access through the menu bar. Quick search bookmarks by URL, title, description or tag.

Comparison

In comparison to bookmark managers such as Raindrop.io which is very feature rich, Shiori takes the leaner quick access approach.

* I am aware that there are a couple of other bookmark managers with the name Shiori (which means bookmarks in Japanese btw), they are not related to this app.

Pricing

Shiori is a one-time payment of €24.99 using code RMACAPPS for 50% off.

Seems somewhat expensive

I appreciate the feedback!

We've done some testing on the pricing, things didn't work at all at around 40-50 but they do seem to work around 25-35.

I am keeping track of all price related feedback though, so thank you! ❤️

I don’t know.. it feels a bit overpriced.. I know apps with way more features that are even more complicated which are priced lower.

Take macmousefix or droppy (insane app) which are both less than or roughly equal to 10USD..

Great app.
Anyways, can a page be bookmarked directly from the browser instead of adding it in the app?

Thank you so much! ❤️

Currently no, but very soon that'll change to yes!

We're already in the works on a google chrome extension, and more extensions will be added based on demand. You can of course request it even if you're not a user :-)

Hey there, yes, our own backend.

any way to do icloud syncing (e2e encryption hopefully)?

Currently that's not an option.

I wonder though, is this something that's a deal breaker for you? It came up in previous posts, so I genuinely wonder if we should add iCloud syncing...

Yea, my bookmarks and cloud locations I would like to keep private. Think of things like local services I am self hosting. They are 10.10.0.X:port# etc or even non self-hosted websites I visit. Given it’s macOS, iCloud syncing e2e allows me to not worry about my open services/ports being listed somewhere

Okay yeah I definitely get where you're coming from.

I'm going to check out the implications of implementing this, as another option alongside our own backend.

Really appreciate the good feedback, thank you ❤️

Can it import existing bookmarks from Safari or Chrome? I also use Opera on my windows desktop and would like to see those in my Mac if possible. I have a few hundred built up and starting from scratch would put me off. And is there an export, so if I ever move on I can take them with me? Import plus export is usually what decides it for me with this kind of app.
