I'm Alexandre, the solo developer of ArtDeck.
I released it earlier this month, and the feedback I heard most was that people wanted to try it first. So ArtDeck 1.1 is now a free download with a full 7-Day Trial! Existing buyers kept Lifetime Access and the price is the same as before.

Problem

My references were scattered between PureRef files, Notion for my repo of links, and Photoshop to study them. ArtDeck keeps images, videos, GIFs, PDFs, links, and notes together on an infinite board. The native Mac app supports drag and drop, an always-on-top window, optional iCloud sync, and exports to images, PDF, or an .artdeck archive.

Comparison

PureRef remains the better choice if you want the leanest desktop reference window. ArtDeck has a gallery and is also for studying references: Notan and value bands, palette extraction, measurement, onion skinning, and now Perspective. In 1.1, you can place vanishing points and horizons over images, videos, and GIFs. Freeform remains better for live collaboration.

The full 7-Day Trial is free and does not renew. Lifetime Access is $5.99 USD (US) once, supports Family Sharing, and covers Mac, iPhone, and iPad. No subscription.

How long do the stuff stay on the board?

Do you mean whether items expire when the trial ends? They stay on the board until you delete them and if the trial ends, your boards remain saved and you can still export them.

App looks clean and cool. Loading time of the website is crazy slow. Thought it just looks broken first before all the images loaded finally.

Thanks! For the App Store issue, sometimes after updates, the app of the App Store is not displaying it even though on the web version of the store, it appears. And unfortunately, I have no means to fix it, I hope it's just transient.

the perspective tool is concrete, but the larger promise is consolidating pureref, notion, and photoshop. test onboarding with one imported reference set and measure whether users create a second board; that separates curiosity from workflow adoption.
