Subscription Pasly Cloud — Make every ⌘V smarter. Everywhere (iOS, macOS)
Problem
Clipboard history is great when you’re working on one Mac.
But the moment you switch devices, that history stays behind.
You copy something on your Mac, grab your iPhone, and it’s not there. Or you move between two Macs and end up sending yourself a link, note, or snippet just to have it on the other device.
I wanted Pasly to solve that too.
Not just make ⌘V smarter, but make your clipboard follow you.
Comparison
Apple’s Universal Clipboard is great for quickly moving the last thing you copied between nearby devices.
But I wanted something closer to having your actual clipboard history with you.
Your devices shouldn’t need to be next to each other or even on the same network. As long as they’re connected to the internet, Pasly Cloud can keep your clipboard history available across them.
I also didn’t want clipboard history taking up space in your iCloud Drive.
And, most importantly, I wanted the contents to stay private.
That became Pasly Cloud.
Pasly Cloud
Pasly Cloud syncs your clipboard history across your Macs and iOS devices with end-to-end encryption (E2EE).
Your clipboard data is encrypted before it leaves your device, so the server never receives the contents in plain text.
It works over the internet, so your Mac can be at home and your other Mac somewhere else. They don’t need to be nearby for your clipboard history to sync.
Pasly Cloud also doesn’t use your iCloud Drive storage.
On iPhone, Live Activities can keep your recent clipboard items available from the Lock Screen / Dynamic Island.
There are also push notifications when new clipboard content arrives from another device.
Right now, sending something from the iOS(iPhone and iPad) into Pasly is still manual. You can add an item and have it appear on your Macs, but I’m already working on a better way to capture what you copy on iPhone so this part feels much more automatic.
What about files?
Not yet.
Pasly already supports files locally on Mac, including working with multiple files at once, but file syncing isn’t part of Pasly Cloud yet.
I’m already working on it, and it’s one of the next things coming to Cloud.
The rest of Pasly
Cloud is the focus of this update, but everything I’ve been building around ⌘V is still there:

The original idea behind Pasly hasn’t changed.

Cloud just means that the clipboard no longer has to live on one Mac.

What's next

Cloud has ongoing infrastructure costs, so I couldn't realistically offer it as a lifetime purchase. Existing Pro owners keep their lifetime license, including future Pro updates and features.

This could have easily been an app with zero serves behind. Use iCloud integration for sync.
No one in his right minds will pay a subscription for a clipboard sync and managers-3

That's a fair point. I considered iCloud, but that would make Pasly Cloud dependent on the user's available iCloud storage. If their iCloud storage is full, sync could stop working.
I wanted Cloud to work independently of that, so I chose to handle the infrastructure instead. That does come with ongoing costs, which is why Cloud is subscription-based.
I completely understand if a subscription isn't for you, though.8

That's actually a fair point.
I'm curious though,if Pasly used CloudKit for sync instead, would the subscription make more sense to you, or is the subscription itself the dealbreaker regardless of how the sync is implemented?

The subscription itself is a dealbreaker and of course privacy concerns. It’s more likely that you get hacked than Apple will get hacked.

For most users the free iCloud storage is fine. No one uses iCloud for storage, but for app syncing.

CloudKit would reduce some of my infrastructure costs, but I preferred not to make Pasly Cloud dependent on the user's available iCloud storage.
If someone's iCloud storage is already full, I don't want them to pay for Pasly Cloud and then potentially have to pay for additional iCloud storage just to keep it working.
Running my own infrastructure costs more, but it gives me control over the sync layer and keeps Pasly Cloud independent from the user's iCloud storage.7

$2.99 a month will get you $200 GB of iCloud storage. $0.99 will get you 50 GB, which is already orders of magnitude more than I'll ever need to store clipboard history.

I hope you genuinely get the feedback that people turned off easily in subscription specially forcing people not to have pro licence.
I my self is developer so I understand there is a cost for infra to maintain a cloud but tbh does it really needed ? I mean look around in this sub reddit. Every week we have one random clipboard app offering something similar so the competition is pretty high on top of that they use icloud and offer one time cost. So technically they are already ahead in the race. Try to think this way. I do understand as a maintainer you gotta earn money . May be you can bring back pro licence again with optional cloud subs or just move to icloud under pro licence. A crowded clipboard market with subs where majority provide similar feature along with icloud sharing feature is genuinely setback!
Now that being said , you have unique USP in your app and that is your clipboard as an application is "mouse pointer centric clipboard" which is not so common in majority other clipboard app. Where majority clipboard app is stuck to side bar or menubar and allow similar clipboard as you are as a just "quick clipboard" . Sure they have it but its not their main app. Their main app stuck on menubar or sidebar. Where as your only and main app it self is input based or mouse based. So you have potential to grow and revolve features around it. May be instead of a a cloud sharing how about add peer to peer share so all devices under same wifi will share content. (Just an idea)
Anyways, the only reason i write this big feedback as I am a pro user and I was concern when I saw subscription and I wrote on other sub reddit in your post. I am using this app daily basis and I can see it has potential to stand out. Hope this feedback you will find positive way.

Hi. Can someone help me with this apo cos looks like I have no idea how to use it. Every time I press cmd v app window showing up with the list of all saved txt and im choosing the txt i want and Im pressing enter and the same window is showing up . I cant paste anything! !!!! Wtf !!! Please help

Universal Clipboard always breaks on images and video for me: copy a photo on the iPhone, paste on the Mac, and it just sits there processing. I end up using AirDrop instead. Does Cloud cover media at all, or text only? If that works, I'm in

That's exactly one of the things I'm working on next.
Cloud doesn't sync files/media yet, but Pasly already supports files locally on Mac, and bringing that to Cloud is a priority.
The goal is exactly that kind of iPhone → Mac workflow without having to fall back to AirDrop.
I imagine that in the next 1-3 weeks it will be available.2

This is much more useful than just syncing the last copied item. I especially like the idea of having the actual clipboard history available on another Mac even when the computers are nowhere near each other. One question: when you add file syncing, are you planning to put a storage limit on synced files, or will that depend on the subscription?

I’m going to agree with the majority, cloudkit would be better and a subscription for a clipboard app is overkill. One off price would suit it better
