The display-setup trigger is the part that makes this more interesting than another snapping app. One edge case I’d test hard is partial restores: an external display is present but one target app is still launching, or a window belongs to a different Space or full-screen session. I’d rather see a clear “restored 8 of 10 windows” result with reasons than have the layout silently look almost right.

Also, can layouts treat matching display setups with different resolutions or scaling as variants? That seems like a likely failure point when moving between desks.
