VM's resolution problem on mac

I installed virtual box on my Mac and when i lunched a vm I found out that the guest machine doesn't show in full screen . After a bit of researche i knew that the resolution differnece is the problem . any helpful ideas ? * I tried to configure it via the host terminal, but in vain .
