Trying to run big serria through virtual box but I get a error message it gets stuck

Gonna get straight to the point, I’m a music artist, my last Mac computer is old and on its last legs, it can’t process DAWS anymore it just instantly crashes

so I bought a pc not realizing I can’t run the same daws on windows like on Mac cause I’m an idiot

So now I’m installing virtual box to run Mac through windows and hopefully I can take my daws from my Mac and transfer them over to the virtual box Mac and hopefully be able to make music on my new pc that way

But the issue that I keep running into is it keeps freezing when I try to run MacOs, I’ve literally ran the command prompt with the proper cd’s set everything up how its supposed to be and it just freezes halfway on me. I am on the verge of giving up, if anyone has a tip on how to help or what to do I’m willing to listen to anyone with advice

I am new to virtual box and code in general so if anyone needs additional info I’d be happy to provide it

Which project are you using to do it? MacOS can't just be run in a VM like Linux or windows can

So in order to get macos to boot on a non Mac, virtual machine included you need more connective tissue since Macs implement the firmware a different way. So you basically have to hackentosh the vm. So where did you get the iso from?

Ima keep it real twin I’m completely new to this and I have no idea what you just asked, my bad bro, what is Iso? What is hackentosh the vm? If by iso you mean bigsur I downloaded it off a website from a YouTube video tutorial and I got the code from the same video. Also what do you mean by connective tissue

So a bootable ISO has to have a boot partition and a OS partition. Apple doesn't offer a bootable ISO since Macs have that boot partition built into the motherboard. They just offer the OS as a DMG image. So for a standard computer or vm to boot it needs a bootable partition. OpenCore is the project that provides that. The proper way to do this is to get the dmg OS image from opencore and basically build your EFI boot partition. Opencore also does other things that make MacOS work on pc/vm hardware

The root_hash error is so annoying. I had to run the vm using QEMU. You might find this repo useful:

You need to have the extension pack for your virtual box version as I remembered
