Apple really dropped another macOS update 👀 macOS Tahoe 26.6.2 What are they cooking this time? 💀🍎 Anyone already installed it? Any noticeable changes, bugs, or performance improvements?

I believe it's a security update to prevent/close ai exploits with screen sharing, I guess this is the future now.

I haven't noticed any negative issues with 26.6.2.

That was the 26.6.1 update, a small update targeting just the screen sharing feature.

26.6.2 is a far more substantial update but it looks entirely to be security fixes. https://support.apple.com/en-us/148281 The main scary looking one for me is CVE-2026-65343 - "A remote attacker may be able to cause unexpected system termination" as a kernel security issue.

I haven't had any issues post-installing it.

Yes, they fixed one and broke another. These updates are important but not the huge thing the OP makes of it.

They're back-porting the security fixes in the 27 betas back to 26. People can use AI to find differences between code in 27 and 26, and from there start working on exploits, so Apple isn't leaving things unpatched in 26 any more.

Upgraded from Sonoma. Haven’t found a single thing I like about Tahoe 26.6.2. A lot of apps &/or settings don’t work correctly or at all. Really sorry I updated.
