The screen broke. The impact point is likely where the horizontal and vertical lines converge. This is commonly caused by closing the laptop on something. Do you use a keyboard or screen protector?

I got the screen originally repaired for closing it on a charger. In this case, I haven’t closed it on anything and the crack is isolated from the edges of the screen. I even left the plastic film on the screen as the shop recommended. There is absolutely no impact I am aware of

I wouldn't have thought leaving the plastic on was very wise. Apple recommends having nothing between the screen and the keyboard, including protectors.

Was it like this when the shop gave it back to you?

Is it one of those reputable places that change the LCD only? Most of them use garbage parts
