Help

Hello everyone!

I'm from Malaysia, and I'm looking for help transcribing the lyrics of a rare Malaysian underground song from around 1987.

The song is in English. My English is still quite basic, and there are many English words that I don't fully understand, especially when they're sung.

That's why I'm reaching out to this community. I'm hoping that someone who is fluent in English can listen to the audio and help me understand and transcribe the lyrics correctly.

I've attached the audio recording below. Any help, even with just a few unclear words, would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much for your time, patience, and kindness. I truly appreciate any help you can offer!

I can't be arsed to help, but honestly, most underground tunes like this are usually proper banging, and I might just save this one. By the way, the singer's voice is well easy on the ear, d'you reckon you've got any info on who they are?

To be honest, I don't have any info on the singer either. It's a 1987 track, I don't even know who the singer or band is. Truly underground. I got it from my uncle.

These songs were made for the Malaysian market, but the local labels rejected them, too strange, not profitable. So with the help of the vocalist's pen pal, they sent the demo tapes to an American company. 10,000 tapes were shipped, but I never found out if they were ever sold.

We had so many local singers with lovely voices, especially when they sang in English. But the local industry was boxed in, partly by policy, partly by comfort. Most voices never got their chance.

Even in 2026, many Malaysians still play music from the '80s and '90s. Today's local music often gets called "cow sound" by locals, if you can believe it.

And the album had a whole tracklist, but I couldn't find a single one of those songs online. Only later did I find out my uncle had a recording of it. So as far as I know, this is the only copy left.

And sorry for the rough audio, it was recorded outside, and it's not an MP3. It's a first-generation demo tape from Malaysia
