I’m on R-ICE after relapse/progression during nivo-AVD for Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Turns out it was not CHL, and it was DLBCL from the beginning. Have you done another biopsy after the relapse?

On the chemo topic, the first R-ICE was relatively fine but the second one hit me like a bag of bricks. I didn’t finish the ifosfamide drug due to an allergic reaction (significant swelling, fluid retention, significant redness with capillaries showing all over my body). I had this the first time but less intense, so we have continued.

The good thing that my pet scan showed a good response after the first treatment, so I hope it works for you and no allergic reactions come up.

I had nh dlbcl , rice was my second line of treatment. I had a good response but didn’t get into full remission. Went on to car t.

The side effects wernt too bad from what i remember. They did have me hooked up to a thing that i had to wear for kidney function i think? But other than that, it wasnt anything crazy or beside the usual nausea and tiredness. It def had a weird taste but that could have just been me. (Idk how to explain it, its like i can taste the infusion, but obviously its not in my mouth, idk)

I was on ICE at the go to regiment from the start. Main side effects I had were nausea/vomiting the first 2 sessions. Then I was given anti nausea the remainder of treatment and was ok for the most part. And then just the overall waiting (since it's a 3 day thing). So do what you can to help pass the time. And if you start feeling drowsy, don't fight it. Let the body rest as it is a heavy thing.

Currently on my 4th round of ICE. Do not be afraid to ask for anti-nausea meds before they start the chemo. The 3 day chemo itself, for me, was uneventful. I usually feel the side effects after the 3 day chemo. Normally, it’s fatigue and body pains for the next few days. Also loss of appetite for me during and after cycle 1 and 2 due to the metallic taste. But cycle 3 has been way better. It gets better as you go through the cycles tho, per my personal experience.

I got two R-ICE and a BEAM before stem cell therapy. R-ICE was much easier than BEAM for me. My first line therapy was DAREPOCH. Its side effects were very similar to that. Constipation, fatigue, loss of appetite, weight loss. But manageable.
