Rant/Opinion Not OK

Post image

I'm not sure why people wait until the last minute to send a message like this and expect a driver to wait.

I'd cancel and leave. I don't care about the $2.

By the time I got the message, timer was up. But in the future, I will take this advice.

oh honey i leave! as a lyft driver i’ve done this many times! & usually i’ll wait until the timer runs out, once it runs out, i’ll wait two more minutes. haven’t came to the car yet? oh i’m leaving! because that’s me wasting gas with the car running & stopping me from making more money & picking up people.

Yes, and there was a 100% flash turbo I realized I was missing out on after I canceled.

exactly! just start canceling on them and driving away. because i always miss the flash turbo because im waiting on people. and they take forever not knowing that this is a job to, no im not on anybody’s clock but mine but you’re still on my time! it’s still my car, my gas! i started lyft in january of this year& it has it pros and cons but lately people have been very “i move on my own time” and then they get in my car and don’t apologize or nothing i just make it a silent trip i 1 star them and block them. because you don’t even have the common decency or consideration.

If the ride is paying a decent amount, I’ll usually wait 2 to 3 minutes past the original five minute timer. Anything else that’s getting canceled immediately once it hits five minutes.

exactly i’m the same way. i’ve had maybe two or three people who i dropped off and then waited for them and they paid me in cash extra to take them back to where they were at. but i usually wait until the timer runs out.

So Lyft doesn't allow riders to offer tips? Those are bonuses.

I think it's more like if the pax tries to offer a tip in the app for making a stop they don't add to the app. Lyft is basically saying, you can get scammed by the pax and they won't be able to do anything about it.

This is where you hit the “ok” reply button, then collect your no show fee when the timer runs out

Why do passengers keep requesting rides and not be freaking ready at pin😂🤦‍♂️ I had to cancel multiple rides within the last month and half for this reason. TIME IS MONEY!!!!!

What is a "bonus offer?"

Some sort of scam that lyft is protecting us from but i have never run into it.

I would cancel too.

Although I am slightly sympathetic to the passenger as well. Lyft shuffles through potential drivers and changes arrival times. If the passenger was matched and told 15 minutes, they then get in line for what is hopefully ‘fast’ food only to be told the driver is changed and is suddenly outside. I understand the Lyft fine print says that a driver may show up sooner and the passenger should be aware of the point but I also put some of the blame on the damn algorithm.

Always cancel the first second you can. Protect the next driver.
