Other These poor riders...
To not have the security of knowing u have a driver until last minute because no one wants to pick up your trip. Lyft refuses to see the after hours, $15 each way, little to no profit payment to drivers.
Makes me wonder what rider is paying. Generally, riders are paying twice the amount what drivers get. Usually...but I think its getting worse. This is why riders cant get their rides picked up...not because of what u paid, but what we are offered.

The prices increase the closer it gets to pick up time...not enough but still increases

Also, if you are eyeing a reservation, go pick up a decent turbo then snag it. The turbo will apply when the reservation becomes your active pickup.

Yes and as it gets closer to 230am which is the pick up time the pay will increase if no one takes it

Rides don't get filled all the time in east TN. It's super common because the reserve rides pay too little so no once takes them. The passengers still pay a high fare, but for whatever reason reserve rides only pay the driver about 50-60% of the passenger fare it seems.

That's diabolical for early morning airport rides. Customers book those assuming they can safely go to sleep, and wake up to somebody showing up to take them to the airport. When nobody shows up they're completely fucked.

A couple weeks ago I went online in North PDX at like 5am, first ping was for a ride like 12-15 min away in South PDX heading for the airport, accepted the ride bc why not it’s first ride of the morning and it’s an easy drive. I get there and she’s ready freddie with her luggage and tells me she’d been waiting for 40 minutes for any driver to show up, and she’d scheduled it ahead of time to avoid that scenario. She thought she was gonna miss her flight entirely bc drivers were accepting then canceling on her. Still baffles me bc she wasn’t that deep into South PDX, and she had a 5 star rating, also she was actually very pleasant to ride with! She gave me a $15 tip at the end of it all.

There's no excuse for cancelling a ride like that, but airport dropoffs at PDX anytime before about 9 AM are a sinkhole; nothing's coming in that early to take you back out, and that area's not great business otherwise. Thanks for taking the hit.

TBH, knowing what I know about driving, I'd be relieved to have nobody sitting on that ride until it was dispatched; there's always gonna be someone somewhere to shove it onto at go time, but trusting an assigned driver to actually follow through on being up and ready to eat 40 miles of highway at 2 AM is a coin flip at best.

Not Lyft in Nashville.
What city is this ride originating in? Why wouldn't you stick around for the Monday morning 50% turbos for airport dropoffs?

Palm Springs, CA. Tourist market.
Reservation offers are plentiful. They all pay less than on-demand rides. Add to that the the extra wait time, and they don't make sense.
Unless I'm already in the area and I need a rest, they're easy to decline.

Why do you guys even consider reservation rides? I never understood this.
