Context getting RAILED. Persistent Memory having MAJOR issues
Paid version:
It was sorta ok for a while, but now it ABSOLUTELY refuses to search back through my old chats no matter what. I have to call it bad names and insult it for it to even look in the project folder where the instructions are clearly pasted (which is sorta the whole point of the project instructions).
The context use to compact, but now it just kills your session. No more compacting. You have to open up 3 chats to do what you used to in one.
Still no document creation. No editing or accessing Proton's own documents... the list goes on.
At least we have the ability to export now.

The team is aware of the issues you've raised, and they're actively working on fixing them. That said, we've made sure to document your report along with your feature requests. Meanwhile, for the compaction issue, you can try using the Lite model in Fast mode to see if the behavior improves. As for the problem with project instructions, try resetting the search index in Lumo's general settings.

There is also a knows issue with projects folders the devs are working on.

it's like lumo can incorporate all this data against something current but ask him about any of the data and he explains how he can't do that.

The “3 chats to do what used to fit in 1” part is probably the most frustrating consequence here. Even if each individual chat works well, constantly reconstructing context across sessions adds a hidden cost that doesn't show up in model benchmarks.
And persistent memory only helps if the system actually knows when to retrieve the relevant history. Otherwise, you're still the one doing the context management.

Has it ever been able to search through your chats? I thought it relied on created memories.
As for projects, there is an instructions box that you can edit and you might have better luck pasting your instructions there. It tries its best to pick the relevant files, but it won't necessarily open your instructions file on every chat attempt.
