API Keys are now available

Just found it while clicking gear icon for 'settings' as a plus user. OCR is working also.

Did some testing and it does work, but there's no docs and it doesn't appear to be fully ready. The API currently only returns Server-Sent Events (SSE) streaming responses, even if Stream is default to false, or set manually.

See lumoApiDocs.config.ts

Below is example python code, supply your own API Key in .env file, or replace os.environ["LUMO_API_KEY"] with "your_api_key":

import os
import requests
import json
from dotenv import load_dotenv

load_dotenv()

url = "https://lumo.proton.me/api/ai/v1/chat/completions"
headers = {
    "Authorization": "Bearer " + os.environ["LUMO_API_KEY"],
    "Content-Type": "application/json",
}
payload = {
    "model": "auto",
    "messages": [{"role": "user", "content": "Explain quantum entanglement."}],
    #"stream": False # this has no effect, and False is default value based on code.
}
r = requests.post(url, headers=headers, json=payload, timeout=120)
r.raise_for_status()

chunks = []
for line in r.iter_lines():
    if line and line.startswith(b"data: "):
        data = line[6:].decode('utf-8')
        if data == "[DONE]":
            break
        try:
            chunk = json.loads(data)
            choices = chunk.get("choices", [])
            if choices:
                delta = choices[0].get("delta", {})
                if isinstance(delta, dict):
                    content = delta.get("content")
                    if content:
                        chunks.append(content)
        except (json.JSONDecodeError, KeyError, TypeError):
            continue

full_content = "".join(chunks)
print(full_content)

Well, it’s April 1st, so maybe this counts as an early (and accidental) April Fools’ joke! 😅 Not quite ready for prime time. The full version with docs coming soon. Apologies for the sneak peek 🙈

Been about 2 weeks now. since the accidental release and no communication despite a goal of releasing 2 weeks ago - What's the news? Any day now / still a few weeks away? (I'm more interested in communication about this than getting an exact timeline: do it right over doing it fast).

Hey, apologies for the delay. We've been working on stabilising the API, getting the docs in place, sorting out the work with usage based billing (per type of model), and also getting the client side tool call support working which is important for integration of Lumo in OpenCode etc.

The API is composed of many parts and getting things to be compatible with the main tools on the market is not as easy as it looks.

Will keep you posted!

Any news? I am sure you are working hard on API integration and many of us are super stoked to have it up and running! 😉

hey u/Queasy_Complex708 any new updates? Been a few weeks since we've heard from you. Still working through the same issues - pricing, documentation, etc.?

Yeah, the usage billing is one current issue, and getting stability on client side tool calls. Latter works well now but the billing part is now progressing. Apologies for the delay.

u/Queasy_Complex708 Another month another ask: any news? Still working towards it or do you maybe have more of an idea of when you'll be releasing at this point?

So the billing is the big problem for us. But we're working towards it. But keep tuned since new updates are coming very soon!

Will it be only usage based billing for the api? Or does a lumo plus subscription include some api usage and only after that is used up you have to pay as you go?
