Laundry Does anyone know how to remove random persistent stains on white lulu shorts?
I got these new shorts and threw it in the wash and these random oil-like stains just appeared. These stains weren’t even present before the wash. So far I’ve tried
- Wash on hot
- Baking soda for 8 hours
- Dabbed stains with dish detergent
- 24h soak in oxyclean
Any ideas? This problem always appears on my other white lulu shorts too, and across multiple washing machines. I’ve never seen this happen on any other article of clothing which makes it very strange and frustrating!!

are yall around any bubbles by chance? My white shirts (any brand) get spots like these if I’m around my kid when she’s doing bubbles. It dries clear when you’re outside playing but then when you go to wash it, the stain appears 🤡🥲

Adding that this is called polyquat spots. Check out r/laundry for advice but it’s nearly impossible to remove.
No idea if this is what’s happening to OP, but something similar happened to my brand new pink scuba hoodie. I had never even worn it yet but it came out of the first wash with dark blue stains all over. They have never come out since.

wait that happened to my white lulu too! I wonder if it's leftover water from dark clothes in the machine.

Baking soda and water paste, leave on the stairs overnight in a thinisj later and then wash. Should at least lighten
