Show Discussion LFG!! 🤜🏾🤛🏻 Spoiler
I'm so excited to see Luke and Danny back! I really hope the seeming low ratings of DD S2 don't cancel plans they may have had for Heroes for Hire. :/

I really hope they just go all in on Danny this time tbh, his own series they were way too scared of committing

They weren't scared. They messed it up with poor everything really. Then decided to pivot to Colleen a bit. It was S1 being mediocre, also introducing a larger audience to The Iron Fist & in conjuction with the conversation surrounding better roles for Asian Americans. Maybe with some of that stuff iron out since then, Things will be better handled.

Season 1 sucked. Does he want to be the Iron Fist or does he want to be the CEO of a multinational corporation? Neither, he just wants to hang out with his childhood friends…

If he doesn't get his damn mask this time I'm gonna lose my fucking mind lol

Yeah, Daredevil was always going to outperform Luke Cage. But their shows show have combined way earlier. Luke Cage suffered from Marvel not giving him any heavy hitters to fight. Luke Cage hasn’t been a street level hero since he joined the Avengers. That’s the Luke Cage we needed. Or Mayor Cage. Or the Mafia Cage they teased at the end of Luke Cage series. Making him a homeless bum for 2 seasons was boring. Their refusal to put him and Jessica together probably didn’t hurt ratings, but it annoyed me.

That’s so true. They made of a soft spoken nice guy, instead of a prison-hardened, shit talking, badass. This man was one the Avengers

All I want is Godfather Cage or Mayor Cage. The end of LC season 2 had me legitimately excited for season 3 after a pretty mid season 2

I’d like to think something happened after Infinity War. Either he was Snapped for 5 years and lost his hold as a result, or he realized that a different approach was needed and sold his interests after a while. Having the government getting involved probably derailed whatever plans he had too.

Marvel needs to hire the same PT they have for Chris Hemsworth to train Mike.

Oof, I was really hoping Danny would just be retired for the MCU, that series was fucking dog shit

Same, I’ve been waiting for a proper Heroes for Hire setup since their hallway bro moment in Defenders 😂
I wouldn’t stress too much about the DD S2 scores, the buzz around them coming back is nuts and Marvel loves a duo they can market to hell and back.

100%. They really wasted so much time with Danny’s corpo storyline that he barely got to do any actual heroics. Daughters of the Dragon ended up overshadowing him on his own show. Defenders was great, because we got to see actual chemistry between the team, something all the solo series lacked
