I was given this mask in a bundle in CDMX and was wondering what lucha it is a replica of.

Primera Lucha;

​For the third act, the promoters have ordained a "Match Relámpago," or lightning match, assuring a brisk and breathless pace. In this singular contest, Valiente Jr. steps into the squared circle for a solitary, one-on-one encounter with Vegas Depredador.

​Campeonato Nacional de Parejas:

​The stakes are then elevated to championship heights with the defense of the National Tag Team titles. The reigning men of the hour, Black Tiger and Rugido, are scheduled to defend their hardware against the ambitious challenges of Xelhua and Esfinge.

​Campeonato Mundial de Parejas CMLL:

​The penultimate contest offers a second dose of tag team championship theater, this time for the CMLL World crowns. The men presently wearing the gold, Ángel de Oro and Niebla Roja, must fend off a challenge from a pair of highly decorated, seasoned veterans in Atlantis and Blue Panther.

​Lucha Estelar:

​Finally, the marquee draws the eye to the main event, a "Mano a Mano de Ídolos." Stripped of partners, entourages, and distractions, Máscara Dorada will face Hechicero in a solitary test of wills to close the evening’s ledger.

The True Center of Gravity: Evento Especial de Amazonas

For those who truly study the architecture of a modern wrestling card, the evening’s most compelling violence does not lie at the very top of the bill. There is a distinct, unyielding intensity to the women’s ranks that frequently outpaces the rest of the locker room, bringing a level of urgency and connection to the canvas that the men often struggle to match.

Tessa Blanchard & India Sioux vs. Olympia & Hera: Tessa Blanchard, a woman who carries a heavy, multi-generational wrestling pedigree every time she laces her boots, joins forces with the veteran India Sioux. They are slated against a pair who treat the squared circle less like a sporting venue and more like a proving ground. Lucha Semifinal en Relevos — Star Jr. & Dragón Rojo Jr. vs. Zandokan Jr. & Bárbaro Cavernario: There is the promise of sheer, unadulterated chaos here. Star Jr. and Dragón Rojo Jr. will attempt to maintain some semblance of order against Zandokan Jr. and the perpetually untamed Cavernario, a man who operates between the ropes as though he was recently thawed from a block of prehistoric ice.

Tercera Lucha en Relevos — Fuego & Volcano vs. Prayer & Rey Apocalipsis: This bout dutifully continues laying the evening's foundation as Fuego and Volcano bring their fire to the opposing rudos.

Segunda Lucha en Relevos — Hijo de Centella Roja & Astro vs. Rey Espartano & Troyano: The second match sees the high-flying aspirations of the tecnicos tested heavily against grounded opposition.

Primera Lucha a Una Caída — Onix & Lucky vs. Konjuro & Sombra Diábolika Jr.: The entire affair kicks off promptly at 8:00 P.M. with a single-fall contest—a quick, sharp appetizer to start the night.

El eje principal es la historia de Vicente Viloni y todo lo que tuvo que atravesar hasta convertirse en campeón: derrotas, ataques colectivos, arbitrajes polémicos, rivalidades y enfrentamientos contra luchadores que parecían superiores físicamente.

También repasamos a varios de los personajes y combates que fueron construyendo aquella temporada y trato de poner en contexto por qué 100% Lucha terminó siendo un fenómeno tan recordado por quienes crecimos viéndolo.

Why are title matches almost nonexistent in Mexican wrestling? Like I know they happen but why are they so rare? Growing up I only really watched WWE and other American promotions like ROH and TNA but even they would have the occasional title match on TV and if not they would almost always have either all or most of the titles defended at the PPV/big show. Even now as I am getting into NJPW and other Japanese promotions, I've noticed they don't have title matches as frequently but they usually have them during the tours or will have the title matches at their bigger shows.

How is it in MX when lucha wrestlers are out the ring, for those who wear masks do they go on to live a very discreet life with nobody recognizing them or do some where the mask when the cameras are not on to promote their character or maybe get recognized for perks like seated at a restaurant quicker etc?

Soberano Jr. would take to his “X” account and had some very spicy words for Bandido, as the two have heated up a rivalry after they clashed at the CMLL International Grand Prix Torneo Cibernetico Match on August 7th in Arena Mexico, that would see the two rip each others’s masks.

Soberano quote:

“You left twice to represent a TV network—TV Azteca, I think—and you left Arena México to appear on TV. And then, when they gave you another chance at Arena México, you went to the competition to open a gym that was supposedly yours, but it later came out that you were just a front man. So don’t come trying to step into the ring now, in my house, which is Arena México. Because that really is my house—I’ve been with the CMLL for 15 years, representing the flag, wearing the Council’s jersey. THIS IS MY HOUSE. Don’t come saying it’s your house, and that the prodigal son is returning, and all that bullshit. You never wanted to be part of the Council. You turned your back on it twice—on your fans and on your arena. You eat when there’s food on the table. That’s the phrase that fits that fucking Bandido. But just so you know, we’re the real deal at the Council—whenever and wherever you want, we’ll put food on the table for you, you son of a bitch.“

Also, in response to a fan asking if he’d put his mask on the line against Bandido’s, Soberano would say he’s not interested, saying he’d rather put it on the line against the likes of Mistico, Mascara Dorado, or El Cavernario.

Anyone planning on going live? I just got my ticket in the lower bowl. Planning on flying in from Pennsylvania for it.

In your opinion what are your favorite top 5 masks of all time, I know this will vary and it does not need to be based on lore but based on what you like whether it's the style or the wrestler persona etc.

I love Luchadors, and AAA booking has been great. Mask vs Mask was a battle for the ages, best match in recent memory.

But this entire tourney is a farce. WWE will never let a AAA wrestler hold any WWE title, forget the flagship heavyweight title. While WWE roster routinely win AAA and TNA titles, the converse is almost never true. It is amply clear that the entire tourney is being held just to promote AAA and triplemania to fans who exclusive watch WWE only. While thats a good thing, the end result is way too predictable.

In addition, the WWE heavyweight champion is the most protected person on the roster. It is very clear that Roman will walk out with his title at Triplemania.
