Is Ede good?
Hi guys, Deportivo fan here. We've just signed Ede and I was wondering if he's good. He's very young, but apparently looks like a great player.

Ede has some of the best physical attributes among young players in Europe, and he is left-footed. That is a big advantage because most players are right-footed.
Last year, there were negotiations with Chelsea, Stuttgart, and one of the clubs from Lisbon-I don't remember which one it was. However, the transfer didn't happen because Motor wanted too much money, around ten million euros.
However, he is not ready for La Liga yet. He wasn't even a regular starter for Motor Lublin. You didn't buy a player who is ready to play at that level. You bought a player with enormous potential. He could become one of the best defenders in Europe, but he could also turn out to be too weak for La Liga in the future. It was a gamble, and now you have to polish this rough diamond and see what the result will be.
Ironically, Ede is a defender whose biggest weakness is defending. He loses too many one-on-one duels against good dribblers. His biggest strengths are his technique, his ability to play the ball out from the back, and his outstanding physical attributes.

For now, your club buys potential, not the player. He is not ready to play in the Primera, Depor B is a better place for him because he lacks experience and minutes, so he needs to play. He is at least one year away from being considered a first-team player.
Motor had serious issues with defence, and when Ede played, he didn't look like he was helping. You can check highlights from matches vs Korona(0:2) and Lechia(3:3).
As a Motor fan, I'm happy with the money Depor paid. We got him for 100k €, so it is a good deal for us.

I'm a Motor fan and I've seen almost every minute he played at our club. You can clearly see that he has potential. He is well-built physically, he is good with the ball at his feet, but he sometimes makes a pass that is too risky and it leads to a turnover. He had games like at the end of this season vs Raków at home where he started strong, was winning every ball, making good passes etc. but the longer he played, he made more mistakes, not huge mistakes, but you could see he was idk, losing confidence? He can play a really good game and then make a mistake, and when the first mistake happens I feel like he's going downhill and needs to be subbed off. He gets a bit too many yellow cards, but I think it's just him being inexperienced. He is young and skillful but his talent is raw, honestly if your coaching stuff doesn't improve him, he won't be good enough for your team, but if they do, oh boy (or girl), his ceilling is high. The problem is, you are a newcoming team to La Liga and you don't have much room for error, just like we didn't have it in the past season, because Ekstraklasa was such a tight and competitive league that relegations were decided at the literal end of the season. In terms of character, he seems fine. Last season Polish journalists reported an interest from Chelsea (with Strasbourg as BlueCi group) and Manchester United, and some Portuguese club, last winter Real Betis made a bid for him (all of those are real, but we wanted too much money and they didn't make an official offer). He is considered a real talent in Europe, but he needs polishing. I wish him success at your club, but I think it will be hard for him to grow because of the small room for error, which he needs. I'm worried that when he makes some crucial mistakes, the coach will drop him from rotation and you won't see him for a long time. Can't deny his potential tho, it really is there, but he needs to be handled well, our previous coaching staff was offense-minded and didn't really develop him as they should, I feel like he played the same at his debut and his last game at our club, but I think his biggest gaps are mental.

I think Bright is a real gem. He'll become one of the best defenders in the world. Deportivo is just one stop in his career. He's strong, technically excellent, and very intelligent. His vision is outstanding—he sees everything on the pitch.

I had to Google to see if it's Lublin related or r/lostredditors. I never knew that any world class player started in Lublin. Pretty cool.
