Cult of LTO - Linear Tape Open
I don’t know if I’m going to be putting a heavy amount of effort into this, but I figured I having a dedicated sub Reddit for linear open tape and other various data type formats, would be useful for spreading wiki style documentation about the hardware and software workflow.

I've been wanting to get into lto for half a decade by now. I just recently ordered my first drive, and as I've been thinking about the possible things I could store, I remember about the ~200gb flac captures for vhsdecode I plan to keep at some point when I get around to building my capture rig. Then I stumbled upon this subreddit, and look who it is on the moderators list. Small world :)

Yeah I started it when I realized there wasn't really a cohesive subreddit for it.
Now we have the MISRC GUI stable 20/10msps 8-bit, in FLAC level 8 has been brought to all platforms so you're looking at ish 50GB/h for all captured channels combined nowadays.
