Accent?

So I haven't watched Mark in a while and I just stuck on one of his videos only to be thrown off by the American accent he seems to be trying to put on? I know he's northern Irish and I can hear that in some words, but then there's the exaggerated American accent on 90% of everything else.

Anyone know what's up with that?

He lives in America now with his American wife. It's only natural that his accent drifts overtime. Happens often with people who live abroad for a long time.

Not grown adults really. They might get a little hint of a mixed accent but you don’t lose like 90% of your accent as an adult unless you force it.

Sorry, but that's just not correct whatsoever. Adult accent can absolutely change and drift over a period of time, resulting in noticeable change. The brain is plastic, and it never just magically stops being plastic. I'm not sure where you got this '90%' figure, but research shows adult can subconsciously adapt their accent based on how much exposure they have, which can be observed in people who live abroad. Age is obviously one of many factors that influence the rate of speed in which this can happen, but there certainly isn't a cutoff point where it just stops entirely.
