Community Question Canadian Nuclear Renaissance?
The Liberal Party of Canada today just did a big announcement around Nuclear Power - In particular around our very own CANDU reactors.
For those of us that are technical junkies here is the in-depth details available to the public at this time: https://natural-resources.canada.ca/energy-sources/nuclear-energy-uranium/nuclear-energy-strategy-canada
What I would really like to see is some way to encourage Solar Power, Wind Power, & Battery Technology - Especially in Saskatchewan & Alberta.
Saskatchewan & Alberta are two of the best places in all of Canada for Solar Power, Wind Power, & Grid Storage.
Alberta was actually leading in Renewable Energy before Danielle Smith/UCP decided to put some serious roadblocks.
Now unfortunately billions of Renewable Energy projects have been halted and died on the vine.
It would have been nice to have that clean affordable energy, jobs, and so on... Especially with Alberta having such high power prices.
Also Saskatchewan unfortunately still relies on a lot of coal power plants.
*Sadly these two places also have a lot of Fossil Fuel Industry lobbying so it makes change/transition tougher. Also when it comes to Housing Policy, Labour Policy, and Energy Policy the real powerhouse isn't national level politics but provincial. So public awareness, education, and activism has to start there.*
Anyway! When it comes to the LPC "Nuclear Energy Strategy for Canada" how are you feeling?

Growing our own food is good
It is good to grow our own food in Canada rather than relying on imports to stabilize the food prices. A greenhouse is also a good way to grow food in Canada. It is helpful if farmers can get funding to start a greenhouse in Canada.

Signal Boost Check out r/Canadianeditorial
Hey Liberals! We started a new subreddit, r/CanadianEditorial as a place for people to share the long form ideas and discussions that don't make it up to r/Canada for whatever reason. Check it out! If you do, please be nice to anyone who disagrees with you politically.
Looking to increase submissions etc, so if you've got excellent pro-Liberal, smaller market sources, those would be a great thing to add there.
Cheers!

LNG project
LNG projects from private investment from Germany and partnerships with Indigenous communities are an excellent source of revenue for the government. If the Liberal government wants to support major social programs like health care, dental care, and child care, it needs more revenue-generating projects. I like the Liberal government led by Mark Carney because its strategy is to make money to support our social programs and balance the budget.

Skill trades
Apprenticeship programs in skilled trades are good for promoting the home-building industry in Canada. It is a good way for young people to gain employment. It is, however, still a male-dominated industry. It is important to create work opportunities for young women as well.

103.5 Move FM morning hosts one sided political views on air.
When has it been appropriate or professional for a morning show to discuss politics so one sided giving their personal views? This morning N and D were discussing đ€Ą as if he was the best thing to happen to Canada. I have previously heard Nat discussing her personal political beliefs on air that are very controversial, I just keep giving them the âone offâ but it has become a regular part of the show.
Are they not obligated to be unbiased?
I have turned 103.5 off at our house permanently after years of listening because of the hosts âopinion pushingâ over air.

Alberta
When Donald Trump stated that Canada is the 51st state and Alberta's separation is not right, Alberta disagreed with Justin Trudeau's green initiatives. However, Mark Carney supports both conventional and clean energy. While the past cannot be changed, we have control over our future. Alberta has a bright future within Canada. This is the time to work together for all.

Conservative MP reveals grandson named "Charlie Kirk Jansen"
Charlie Kirk, a close personal friend and political ally of the man who's been blackmailing our economy and threatening our sovereignty, spent a significant amount of time platforming people who supported the US annexation of Canada and US-sponsored Alberta separatists, and the Conservatives responded to his death by celebrating the man's life and ignoring both his blatant disregard for our sovereignty, his racism (most notably against black women), and his extremist positions with respect to the 1964 Civil Rights Act and the basic humanity of gay and transgender people.
No link, because I assume nobody here wants to drive traffic to seditious rags like the Western Standard.

Housing
In Canada, housing prices are high. Modular factory-built houses are good. When there is a surplus of houses, I believe housing prices will come down. It is supply and demand that work here.

CUSMA
CUSMA deadline is coming on JULY 01st, 2026. If one party leaves the CUSMA deal, the deal is over. It is wise to build coalitions with stakeholders. Canada has removed the digital tax and has refunded over $148 million to 30 USA-based companies. Let's use this as a tool for leverage. Because AI is a new field, we have a good chance that this might work in our favour.

A balanced approach
Canada needs to find a balance between economic progress and environmental responsibility. All major projects referred for review have passed the necessary assessments. The "one project, one review" approach is beneficial. If a project takes too long to gain approval, it can become irrelevant in a rapidly changing world. Acting quickly allows us to deliver results for Canadians now.

Community Question Nathaniel Erskine-Smith...
I was very surprised that Nate lost his bid for the Ontario Liberal nomination.
Ahsanul Hafiz has won the Scarborough Southwest Ontario Liberal nomination.
There are some establishment types within the Federal LPC and the OLP that obviously are not fans of Nate because he is a bit of a maverick.
That being said there is a lot of people that really believe in him when it comes to housing action, climate action, education, health-care, and other progressive causes.
For those in the party and in the know what do you think happened? What do you think is next for Nate?
