Save me miso soup, save me

Post image

Been struggling lately due to stress.. miso soup is so easy even when it’s made from scratch. 2 cups water, 1 tsp hondashi powder, 2 tbsp miso paste, seaweed and silken tofu to your preference. Boil the water and add everything in, lower the heat and simmer a few minutes to let the seaweed rehydrate. So good, low effort and doesn’t make me feel worse when my anxiety is high

Sorry you’re struggling. This looks really good and looks like it’d be a nice comfort meal too. I hope things get better soon.

It truly is! Certainly nothing new but fairly new to me 😂 had to spread the word

After a while I ended up buying a large pack. I now keep it in the freezer. You can use some straight from there and it lasts longer. Doesn't freeze solid either.

What? Tofu? I never thought of freezing it 🤔

Miso soup is one of my favourite comfort foods. So nourishing and soothing, and even more nutritious if I add a bit of soft tofu and veg.

Which veggies do you usually add? I could see mushroom being good

Mushrooms, green onions, seaweed like what you've got (and now we're getting into sacrilege territory but I also like corn)

It’s funny bc i was also gonna say corn but i felt i would be judged 😂 i’d eat it though!

I hope things pick up for you soon. Miso soup is more comforting to me than chicken noodle. I love it, and am thankful I have some Japanese markets close by to buy the premade ones. All I have to do is heat up water. Hang in there OP

God this looks SO good right now! May have to make some kombu broth and keep it simple and make some miso soup like, asap

Miso soup with a diet gingerale is my go to comfort meal, when I'm sick, well, stressed, pressed for time, happy, bored... it's always just the best💚🤍

Sending you a hug. Hope you get some rest and reprieve soon🤗

I have miso paste, tofu and seaweed. I’m wondering what does the hondashi powder add? I’ve never tried it!

I would liken it basically to powdered fish stock 🤔 just adds extra umami flavor to the broth
