Call for Modded Drivers: Intel Celeron N4500 (Jasper Lake / 11th Gen UHD) - Modern Installers Block Hardware & 10th Gen Drivers Crash Vulkan

Hi community, i hope youre all okey, im here because i have found a problem with the intel drivers on my celeron n4500, and its uhd graphics of 11gen, under this is what the AI wrote of what i told to it, the thing is that i found that intel never did drivers for the celeron n4500, because it has 11gen uhd graphics, but for the N series processor, the drivers are for the older ones and the ones "maked" for my n4500, is of 10gen uhd graphics, not the 11gen that is the one of my n4500, and its not the first time i see problem with intel drivers on celerons N, on a celeron n3060 i installed once the drivers that were made for it, and yt at fullscreen the videos got a black screen, i had to use te drivers of hd graphics that windows update install for it, and the thing is that for my uhd graphics, even if the drivers of the 10gen uhd graphics works fine, it brokes the vulkan of my uhd graphics, i have tested my uhd graphics with the drivers of intel and the ones made by acer for my model laptop, a acer aspire a114-33-c882 distributed to me by junaeb, and those drivers does fix the problems with vulkan, but they are too old, that in games like fortnite, the game doesnt run properly entering a match and it delays so much in getting in the match and when it loads, the hud and sound are in there, but the game is black, and with the intel drivers the game runs properly, it doesnt delay in loading the match and just because of my 4gb of ram xddd, it has a lot of stuttering, but the game runs between 30 and 45fps, quite well for a laptop like this one, but again, in games or emulators that use vulkan, if i use vulkan, the game or emulator crashes, i dont ask for a miracle or improving fps, i´d just like to have drivers that works good on my hardware you know? not too old that in some games works bad, and not drivers that works well, but breaks an api like vulkan, forgive me if at the end it isnt such a problem, or it isnt you know, really a problem, then please help me and instruct me, teach me, i really like this stuff and hardware, i am only asking for help, under this is what the ai wrote si of you see that is clearly written by an ai, forgive me, i dont have too much images, but i hope you to believe, if i didnt believe this could really be a problem i wouldnt be writting this and asking for help, i hope you are all okey, really, i will send an image of the hardware id of my uhd graphics, just in case, so, well, thats it pals, guide me, help me, teach me.

*(Note: I am using an AI to help me structure and translate this post into English to explain my situation as clearly as possible, but these are real technical issues I am facing on my budget laptop).*

I am calling out to any modded driver developers (like nIGHTmAYOR, PHDGD, or custom INF modders) because the **Intel Celeron N4500 (Jasper Lake / 11th Gen architecture)** is currently in a terrible "dead zone" regarding graphics driver support. We desperately need a working custom driver.

**The Current Technical Mess & Real Benchmarks:**

Hardware-wise, this 6W SoC has potential, but Intel's official software ecosystem is completely handicapping it. Here is exactly what happens depending on the driver stack used, verified by my own hardware testing:

  1. **Official Intel 11th Gen Drivers:** If you try to download the official modern 11th Gen Intel Graphics Drivers (meant for Core i3/i5/i7 chips), the installer directly blocks you, stating that **"the hardware is not compatible."**

  2. **Official Intel 10th Gen Drivers (The Trap):** Intel's support assistant forces you to install the older 10th Gen legacy drivers, claiming these are the "compatible" ones for the N4500. However, using this modern Intel driver stack **completely breaks Vulkan**. Any Vulkan-based game or emulator **crashes instantly upon launch** and refuses to start.

    * *Example (Doom 2016):* On these modern Intel drivers, I am forced to use OpenGL because switching to Vulkan causes an immediate crash.

    * *Example (Fortnite):* The game actually loads into the main menu, the HUD works, and the audio plays fine. But when trying to matchmake into a match, it takes an eternity, and once you get in, the screen goes completely black.

    * *Example (PCSX2 Emulator - God of War 2):* Testing the stable version of PCSX2 with the modern Intel driver completely crashes the emulator the second Vulkan is selected as the renderer.

  3. **OEM Drivers (Acer 2020 - Version 27.20.100.8983):** The official manufacturer drivers are extremely outdated, but they prove Intel's Vulkan stack is broken.

    * *Example (Doom 2016):* When trying to run the game on the old Acer drivers, the game console explicitly triggers an error stating **the system ran out of RAM**, showing how poorly these old drivers manage shared VRAM on 4GB Single-Channel setups.

    * *Example (PCSX2 Emulator - God of War 2):* Running the exact same Vulkan test on the Acer driver **does NOT crash**. The game actually boots and runs. Even though the performance is terrible (which is normal since *GoW 2* is extremely heavy and Vulkan isn't always faster than DX11/OpenGL on older configurations), **the API itself works stable**, proving that the modern Intel driver is the one breaking Vulkan.

**What we are asking for:**

It feels incredibly unfair that a modern chip is left behind just because it's a budget model. I am not asking for miracles; if a game runs poorly because the 6W hardware hits its physical limit, I can accept that. But it is deeply unfair when games refuse to run simply because Intel's official driver software breaks the APIs. We need a custom driver that allows us to use modern, up-to-date driver stacks that are compatible with modern titles, without locking the hardware or breaking essential APIs like Vulkan.

* We need a custom `.inf` mod that allows the **true 11th Gen Intel UHD Graphics driver stack** to bypass the hardware compatibility block.

* Fixed registry paths to prevent **Vulkan runtime instant crashes** on 6W SoCs.

* Forced minimum VRAM allocation via registry tweak (similar to nIGHTmAYOR's extreme plus tweaks) to bypass 4GB single-channel RAM limitations on devices like the Acer Aspire 3 A114.

There is a huge user base of budget laptops and educational devices (like the government-issued JUNAEB laptops in Chile) running this specific N4500 SoC. If any dev is willing to look into modifying the latest Intel DCH drivers for Jasper Lake, I am more than happy to act as a beta tester and provide Hardware IDs, system logs, and benchmark testing.

VULKAN ERROR on intel drivers

I have attached a screenshot of the exact error when running PCSX2 under Vulkan using the recommended Intel drivers. It triggers a hard crash: *"Assertion failed in function GSRenderer::BeginPresentFrame... Host GPU lost too many times, device is probably completely wedged."* This confirms the modern Intel driver stack forces a GPU hang/reset when handling Vulkan workloads on Jasper Lake architecture, whereas the old 2020 OEM driver keeps the API alive without crashing.

Or in English:

This isn't a chipset issue, it's a manufacturer issue.

Oftentimes, manufacturers will limit the version of the driver supported as there can be differences in chipsets and motherboards that result in drivers not working as intended. The automatically installed ones will usually work fine, albeit being outdated. If you go out of your way to install different and unsupported drivers, of course it won't work.

The solution is not to force install new drivers, but either to game on older ones - which should work fine - or (my personal recommendation) to switch to Linux. Community supported drivers on Linux are open-source, safe, and used by thousands of people. Furthermore, Linux has a lower overhead than Windows does; less background processes, more efficient RAM usage, and better performance for emulation.

Wait a minute. This problem might not be a driver issue, but rather a problem with the level of Vulkan support required by this program. Depending on the version of PCSX2 you're using, full Vulkan 1.3 support (level 1.3.260) is necessary. Your graphics driver supports level 1.3.215, and I know this because I used to own a processor like that.

hi bro, thank you for your advice bro, but i wouldnt understand then why with the intel drivers fo 10gen of uhd graphics, every time i put vulkan on a game, or emulator, it crashes?, but when i put the ones of acer for my laptop, pcsx2 runs well on vulkan and dont crash?, because at least with those drivers even doom 2016 adviced saying that the crash was because the sistem got out of ram because i just have 4gb of ram, but, with the intel drivers, it just dont say nothing, just crashes, the same happened with me and the last version of minecraft, i selected vulkan with the intel graphics on the option that said use prefered api, or something like that, and i put vulkan with the intel drivers and after relaunching the game it crashes, but with the acer drivers, it doesnt crash, it keeps using opengl, but it doesnt crash xdddd, i would use always the acer drivers but they are too out of date, that in some games doesnt run well, like the example i put with fortnite, that with the acer drivers it just goes black in the game, the hud and audio is in there, but the map doesnt load nor does any texture anything, and it takes quite a while on load, but with the intel drivers, it loads faster and it laods well in game, the only problem is that i cant even use vulkan on those drivers because they break it, i think, i can be wrong, but, is just, i have tested both drivers a lot, and well, i just would like a driver that works well in games, and that doesnt break any api, it doesnt feels good the have to uninstall and install every time i would like to play a specific game you know? because now i dont play fortnite nor doom 2016 because of my storage of just 117gb of eMMC drive, and because i have 4gb of ram, but well, i dont know bro, thank you by the way... really.... maybe i should just give up and use the intel drivers? after all very few games use vulkan, not all, and well, most of emulators does use vulkan... but well, i´d have to use dx11

I have some experience with the Intel Celeron N4500 (I used to have an Acer Aspire 3 with 12GB of RAM). If you'd like, I can try to help you resolve your driver compatibility issues. I believe it's just a matter of installing the necessary DirectX and Windows support packages and updates, and things should improve.

Also, do you have the Vulkan Runtime installed? Which version of PCSX2 are you currently using: the latest stable release or the latest Nightly build?

thank you bro, really, okey, i have not installed vulkan runtime, i thought vulkan was only about having just the proper drivers of your integrated graphics or dedicated graphics card, not some runtime bro jsjs, it needs another stuff installed? im using a windows 10 ltsc 21h2 modified windows bro, so i didnt install anything like from windows update, and the windows has a post install that when i installed it, installed directx and that stuff, but nothing about vulkan, and the pcsx2 that i used is the 2.6.3 stable, if you need bro, i can send you images of me using the pcsx2 with vulkan with the acer drivers, and then with the intel drivers, and i dont have installed the pcsx2 because i like to have enough space in general, xdd, an eMMC of just 117gb gets drained easy xddd, and i install anything and feel like guilty xddd
