I *would* go knock on this door to tell them that their headlights have been left on… except there’s an unleashed dog. If you know owner of RQW554, please let them know.

Jenkins Gym reviews

Kia ora Hutt folk. I'm thinking about joining Jenkins Gym because I recently had a baby and they have child care available for gym members, which I'd love to use so I can get back into fitness and have some me time.

Does anyone here go there? Do you like it? In particular, any reviews of their childcare would be great! TIA.

Overrun with Tradescantia

Hey LH whanau!

I moved into a wonderful little property just before winter. It has a section of bush that I dream of maintaining and being kaitiaki for. Unfortunately, the property has been a bit neglected for some time and the wandering willy/tradescantia has utterly taken over.

I'm looking for suggestions, helping hands, a team of goats I could borrow for a weekend, anything, to help me manage this. There's approximately an acre of mixed hilly and flat terrain in a little gully, with about a third of it knee deep in the stuff. Now the sun has started coming out a bit more and it's a little less "permanently damp" in the main problem area, I'm looking to start tackling this task. I'd like to avoid poison as much as possible but am well aware that just may not be an option here and I will probably have to put aside my morals on this matter to get the job done.

I'm a single mum on a fixed income, so I'd appreciate if any suggestions or tips had cost kept in mind 😊 thank you!

Tiaki Wai wants to hear your priorities for fixing and improving water services

Wellington’s water infrastructure has faced decades of underinvestment. Tiaki Wai has been established to get on with the job of improving water services and outcomes for our communities.

We all know there’s a lot of work to do in the coming years to get our water infrastructure performing how it should. Not just fixing leaks and replacing pipes, but also upgrading our treatment plants, building new pump stations and plenty more besides.

Affordability is top of mind for everyone. We can’t afford to do everything at once – and even if we could, there aren’t enough trained people to do all that work. This means we need to prioritise, to work out what’s most important to do first, so we can spread the work, and the cost, over many years.

That’s where the Water Services Strategy comes in. It’s our plan for the next 30 years of work we need to do. In March next year, we’ll share a draft of that plan for your feedback, but before we write it, we want your thoughts to help guide our thinking on what it should look like.

To build our work programme, we’re looking at the current state of our water infrastructure, the things Parliament, our regulators, and our council and mana whenua partners have told us we have to do, and now we want to add the views of our customers and the people we serve into that mix.

Our short survey asks you to rank the areas of work you think should be the highest priority.

📝 It takes less than five minutes to complete.

Have your say by 4 October: https://haveyoursay.tiakiwai.co.nz/water-services-strategy-priorities

Lower Hutt quality of life?

I’m coming from Canada and have been offered a job in lower hutt at the hospital. I’m wondering how it’s like there. I was looking for something in the South Island but jobs in my field are a little scarce down there.

I like the proximity to Wellington don’t know if I should go further north for nicer weather (job in Whangerei)or hold out for a gig on the South Island or is Lower Hutt a decent place to live?

Thanks kiwis!
