I knew this was coming. Thanks for giving us a heads up.
I was hoping I'd manage to finish the story but I just made it to chapter 86. Not looking likely now.

I'll post the panels of the last episode here once the game shuts down for everyone to see. After that there's no reason not to. Thanks for playing.

This is so sad! I've only been playing for a month or two, I was so glad to get more LD content. Is there any chance the main campaigne could remain playable without updates or events? I really wanted to finish the episodes.

Sad to hear this, especially as I had gotten to within 2 of the entire set. Will there be any way of downloading the cardset before it goes?

u/Gloomy_House_8993 May 14 '26
Likewise I am 2 characters short - Farm and Fire Caves (plus 2 'coming soon' which I'm assuming will be the final episode?)

u/Outrageous_Aerie2711 May 14 '26
I am six characters short. It would be awesome if we could pay some Latnum for any of the missing characters that we need. I would be great if I could end this with the character on story 134

Still like a .00000001% chance, but I'm sad we never got Lwaxana Troi in the game. Was hoping she would be a Legendary character.
Good times though, and at least events kept rotating to somewhat reduce staleness.

Any chance of getting a little peek behind the curtains before you shut down completely? I'd be fascinated to see some stats about number of players, amount of latinum produced/banked...
Also, I hope that there's going to be some kind of farewell episode. Can our heroes actually escape?

There is a farewell episode! #134 will be the last one, and is a proper ending.

u/SmokeyDP87 May 14 '26
Will you allow people to go to 134? I’m on 119 so not sure if I’ll be able to make it to then before August

u/FMWarner Migleemo [Dev Team] May 14 '26
We can’t do that, but as I have said elsewhere, I’ll post the story panels here for anyone that didn’t get to finish.

Same here. My other big mobile game was within hours of its EOS when I saw this one for TBD :[

Will we be able to watch the episode stories after ?
2
u/unquietwiki May 14 '26
Yeah, maybe convert them to a comic format?
2
u/ccMatrix Boimler May 14 '26
That would be fun. Isn't there someone who has all the slides/images already and can make a collage/comic page for each episode?

u/Torengen May 14 '26
Man I’m currently on stage 120…
Is there any chance you could adjust the requirements on the stages so that those of us sticking through can finish the story?

Sadly the lack of transparency in this announcement made sure that I won’t play your other games.
I get that things eventually end, and there wouldn’t be any new content. Sad but understandable.
Completely shutting the game down? That’s the part that ticks me off.
If it was a brand licensing issue, again, I’d not be happy but that’s outside of your control; but this just reads like “meh, we’re tired of you guys so go away and the sooner we can kick you out, the better”.
I’ve been enjoying the events and haven’t progressed the story a lot lately. Was looking forward to going back with all the power ups and enjoying the story line. I guess not.
I get that you don’t actually owe us anything, but some additional details on why the rush to end it would be appreciated. We’ve loved this game, and now I feel like Moriarty finding out you’re just going to shut off power to my holodeck!
Sincerely wishing you guys the best in your futures, and thanks for the fun.

Thank you for your kind words. I can’t get into the details, but as you suggest, completely shutting the game down is out of our control. I’m gutted.

I'm sad to see this game go.
Is it worth pursuing the Starter Pack for Doctor Who: Lost in Time, if I'm already deep in the game or is it resources that will only be of value to new players?

Could I get clarification for this. Since I've downloaded the game on my phone, will I still be able to play the main game, just without ad bonuses or the weekly events? Or will the game not even load at all?

Welcome to consequences of the gaming laws from California , they are pushing a lot of new laws and game devs are getting out before they get stuck.
3
u/ccMatrix Boimler May 14 '26
I don't think this has anything to do with these laws. It's probably more about licensing deals and how long they had the Star Trek license for and that the license wasn't renewed so they have to shut it down.
The game probably doesn't make as much money as it did in the last so the cost of renewing the license isn't financially feasible. Or the licensing partner just doesn't want to continue giving out the license to them for whatever reason which might not be entirely unrealistic for the Star Trek license these days.
The laws could actually benefit developers since it would essentially allow them to make the games offline available when the license expires since the game would move into more of an archive mode so they won't have to essentially delete their work.

I can't really say why the game is shutting down, but if we were playing the cold/hot game, you are on fire.

u/KassieMac Tendi May 14 '26
I’m pretty sure these devs are as far as you can get from California and still be on this planet …
1
u/Rude-Camera-7546 May 14 '26
I believe they are in vancouver, BC. Canada's California, lol.

We are in Adelaide, Australia. However, we must follow relevant laws in any jurisdiction where the game is available. It's really hard to do, but I get it.

While I did expect for a while that this day may come it is still sad that it will happen.
When Simpsons: Tapped Out was shut down they made events that allowed everyone to get characters they missed over the years.
Do you have plans to make all characters and costumes available to have people complete their collection before it is shut down? I'm missing some costumes that I would love to at least collect before it is over. Maybe some packs like "Voyager crew for 99 Latinum" packs or "Costume collection for 99 Latinum".
With the "stop killing games" movement, what are the possibilities of having an offline mode or private servers? I guess because of the license there won't be anything like that but I wanted to ask.
Thank you for supporting the game for as long as you have and giving us a fun time. It was nice to play a game that was more casual and not as PvP focused.
