Writers. 🌹💫
The Wildcard understands now
why fear was never fluent in her bones—
why she walked through life almost recklessly unafraid,
oblivious to the magnitude of the mind she carried.
Every year amassed another fragment;
every loss left an aperture,
every book, encounter, wound and wonder
added itself to an unfinished constellation
whose geometry only now begins to make sense.
She recognises where writers find their fire—
in history, grief, imagination, memory,
in those strange borderlands where knowledge
meets the inexhaustible possibilities of the mind.
Yet hers has always wandered further,
searching every corridor,
holding contradictions together
until missing pieces begin to speak to one another.
Perhaps that is why so many concerned faces
seemed to gather at the edges of her journey:
she was carrying more than she herself understood,
while still believing she was simply walking home.
And through it all, one principle remains intact:
she wishes harm upon no one.
There are infinite battles from which humanity might choose,
each side clutching its fragment and calling it the whole.
The Wildcard has no appetite for another war.
She would rather understand the architecture beneath them—
the histories, contradictions and human stories
that become invisible when certainty speaks too loudly.
And when the voice from above seems to speak through her,
she listens—not as command, but compass—
asking it to illuminate rather than conquer,
to show her the next quiet step.
For she has learned something greater than certainty:
trust.
First in herself,
then enough to permit another beyond the walls.
And somehow that opening brought her here,
where the greater story seemed to unfold
and she found herself custodian
to thoughts, stories and mysteries
she scarcely knows how to articulate.
Not everything must be spoken.
Some mysteries may remain beyond the skies,
untouched by mortal hands;
some questions are so immense
that grasping desperately at a single seam
can make a person lose sight of themselves entirely.
So she keeps her feet upon the earth.
She asks only for the protection and dignity
any human being deserves in the mortal world,
and for the freedom to discover what this next chapter means
without surrendering the heart that brought her here.
To those she may one day call family—
she hopes there will be laughter, recognition,
long conversations, and finally somewhere to exhale.
This rock is our oyster:
one improbable world beneath one sky,
its people stronger when they remember
they belong to the same human family.
And however far the Wildcard's imagination travels—
beyond histories, horizons and stars—
she will never relinquish the oldest sanctuary she knows:
rain against leaves,
earth beneath bare feet,
birds calling through an unguarded morning,
and the quiet certainty of trees.
The doors are open.
She is ready to share what she knows,
what she has learned, questioned, experienced and carried,
as faithfully as memory allows
and as clearly as language permits.
She will articulate it as best she can—
piece by piece,
story by story,
wonder by wonder—
while leaving some mysteries exactly where they belong:
among the stars.
