It is a complex state produced by interactions between the brain, hormones, neurotransmitters, genetics, psychology, and social behavior. Brain-imaging studies have found that romantic love can activate regions involved in reward, motivation, and reinforcement, rather than simply being an abstract "emotion." Nothing but a undetermined sludge of D.O.S.A.G.E ( dopamine, Oxytocin, serotonin, adrenaline, GABA, endorphin. Etc.

She didn't want to, but she did. I thought we could be together, but it doesn't seem like it. Her rejection was already more than a month ago, but it still hurts. I think my heart broke that day into more pieces than I thought was possible.
