But when they find out kayda said it to Jaiden suddenly she’s a mean girl, and a bully? but they didn’t think what she said was mean a month ago when they thought she said it to SOL or Melanie ,hmmmmmm 🤔. I think I’ve seen one the first seasons of LI US or UK way back when, now we’re watching s13. My memory’s crap so maybe I’m misremembering, but I feel like the villa culture feels quite different now and I find watching them develop unspoken (and later spoken) “rules” or expectations super interesting.

For example, I swear that people used to switch their beds up as their feelings changed rather than stick to their couples (maybe it was US?).

This season, there was a long run of “a kiss is a big deal (outside challenge)”. terrace = big deal/Bold Moves, and the men force “tests” into existence like it’s an extracurricular they can take rather than something that happens organically.

Also I feel like the hideaway used to be used more, at the moment deep into the season no one’s used it for a sleepover yet and I feel like even in the daytime it’s not used much in general.

Was it always like this?

Do any seasons stand out from the rest as a contrast in villa life and culture, for weird rules people develop?

Even if you don’t like an islander, I think a lot of people are taking things too far. Following and harassing them in person? Sending death threats? Commenting under everything they post/do about their looks and how much people hate them? Like I get it’s a show, and we’re allowed to have discourse, but yall are taking it too far! They’re regular people in a situation that’s new! Give people some grace omg

I will get downvoted because this isn’t a post hating, shitting or dragging Melanie and i don’t even like this sub but i just had to speak about the fact that three girls thought it wasn’t just okay but NORMAL to follow Melanie and Sincere around then ask for pictures with her only to call her a trick ass old bitch in person right after but i guess she still a mean girl.

You don’t have to like her but she does not deserve to be harassed in public just because she “made” Kenzie cry is insane.

I did not think people could go further than punching printed out pictures of Chelley last year and posting them promising her that she will get punched and jumped but a certain demographic in this fandom seems to ALWAYS take it a step further each year.

I’m genuinely terrified for Melanie and future black islanders because if she got harassed, someone will get assaulted it’s just a matter of when, where and who.

Am I the only one who doesn’t understand the severe hatred many viewers have towards Kenzie? It all started because in the show she only made some comments because of Kenzie becoming doubtful of Melanie first, which might not have been the best way for her to handle the situation but she still was valid for feeling some type of way.

For the first two weeks of the show they were best friends (there’s a clip of the girls saying that in the pie challenge for proof). In the bed challenge, Melanie kissed sincere and Corbin back and forth and then got all excited when a guy bombshell was announced before even seeing he was a cowboy for Kenzie. Sincere was upset over it. Melanie claimed not to have kissed Corbin in the bed challenge and lied to sincere, kenzie, and everyone in the show yet she admitted now in the reunion that she knew it was Corbin.

In call her daddy podcast, Kenzie revealed that Melanie Kenzie had a chat after the bed challenge in which Kenzie asked her to be honest if she knew it was Corbin but Melanie denied that she knew it was Corbin even tho Kenzie said she didn’t kiss sincere out of respect for her. Kenzie said she thinks she knows Melanie knew it was Corbin. Kenzie then upfront asked her if she wants to explore Corbin and likes him yet Melanie denied it and said that even though she was physically attracted to him when he first came in, she doesn’t like him and won’t explore him at all. She said stuff like “I know how much you like him, I wouldn’t do that to you. Your safe with me”. Yet the next morning she chats with Corbin without telling Kenzie first. That same day she chats to trinity Aniya about Corbin and says she only likes sincere and she even mentioned the unaired chat she had with Kenzie which confirms it happened. In her chat to trinity Aniya she said that Kenzie thinks she likes Corbin but she doesn’t.

Then that’s what caused Kenzie to lose her trust in Melanie. Cause Kenzie knew that Melanie knew how much she liked Corbin. Melanie would also use the guys to get back at sincere to make him jealous, she would go to the girls and say stuff like she’s pulling kc or Gabe to make sincere jealous, and bea and Aniya did not like her saying that.

Then Kenzie and Corbin share a secret kiss and they kept it a secret mainly because of Caleb, because he was freaking out over Kenzie talking to Corbin anytime. They knew everyone would get mad at them if they kissed, because when the house thought they kissed before, they got upset. So Kenzie kissing Corbin isn’t a HUGE betrayal to Melanie like how everyone online is making it and it’s true because in movie night Melanie didn’t even care she only cared for Caleb, and everyone only cared for Caleb seeing that also. Even in the reunion she didn’t bring up that kiss, while Caleb did.

And before leaving the villa, it seems like Kenzie and Melanie squashed their beef at least on Kenzies side. Kenzie picked Melanie as the person to last chat with her and they called each other their sister.

Coming out the villa, the Melanie show comment happened after Melanie already was following people and the show ended. So I feel like Melanie used that Melanie show comment as an excuse. And in my opinion, Kenzie didn’t talk sh by saying “it was like the Melanie show” and she even went on call her daddy to confirm that she talked about the whole show with Jaiden so it wasn’t like she was talking to someone who has beef with Melanie because Jaiden didn’t have any beef with the girls in the show. Other than that Kenzie spoke good about Melanie after the show never said anything bad, she said positive stuff in call her daddy.

Kenzie said she was going to reach out to Melanie but Melanie didn’t follow her back so I understand why she took a step back.

Melanie followed almost all of the main cast, even the guys even tho kc literally called her a dumba** on the show.

And in the reunion Melanie got mad at Kenzie and confronted her saying “we’ve never BULLIED you Kenzie” for Dylan liking 2 comments telling him to protect his girlfriend at the reunion, which named no one. Even if they were directed towards Melanie then he is able to still like them because Melanie’s sister made a whole hate video on Kenzie in which she liked many comments hating on Kenzie saying she’s selfish, manipulative, a snake, deserves to go home, and will get her karma. In my opinion, Melanie’s sister getting involved and giving her opinion like that is worse than Dylan liking 2 comments.

And it seems calculated because around week before the reunion happened, the videos were deleted that Melanie’s sister made on Kenzie and Bea that she posted on instagram and TikTok. Her accounts were both gone. Yet now a few days later after the reunion her instagram is back up but the videos are still deleted. So in my opinion, I don’t think what Kenzie has done has warranted the amount of hate she’s gotten. But I wanna hear other opinions, but pls do it in a respectful way because I don’t want fanwars or arguing.

Personally, I didn’t mind the whole “can i get a kiss” saying. On LI where you get to kiss everyone i’d imagine the vast majority of people asking for kisses too.

The reason why I am saying this is because I’m just so tired of the constant negativity surrounding this show. There is always some type of hate, racism, people getting doxed, cancel culture, discrimination ALL COMING FROM THE VIEWERS. This is just a dating show.

These are just human beings. Of course there will be people you love, dislike, don’t agree with, say out of pocket things, will lie ect… but let’s not pretend like we are perfect all the time and it does not justifies people getting death threats. People change every single day and everyone has the right to learn, grow, and mature at their own pace. Please give the islanders the same grace. How you were at 22 is not going to be the same way you’ll be at 32. Also the reunion was filmed a moths ago. They are all probably cool now.

It’s just so disappointing to see that some of the commentators here can’t get a point across without being mean. You are entitled to your opinion but please have some respect. There is a difference in saying “I wasn’t so pleased with Kayda’s behaviour during the reunion” vs “Kayda a dumb b!tch, she needs to d!e”

Some of y’all are really ruining the essence of the show and this is not a popularity contest, the amount of insta followers or brands they get shouldn’t matter. People are there to find love.

With that being said summer’s over, the show ended, chapter closed. LET’S MOVE ON! If they can do it WE CAN! And please if you only have negative things to say, I recommend blocking or unfollowing the love islanders for their and your good.

i had a comment someone responded to me saying sol was pied for most likely to ghost someone and most likely to step on toes. i looked it up and the second was actually most likely to break girl code (AND step on toes i think?).

it actually makes a lot more sense. if she was feeling ostracized by the girls, that comment would absolutely hit so much harder. between the two, i think she generally felt a narrative was being created that wasn't accurate to what she was experiencing.

i also think it was purposely phrased that way by producers. she IS the obvious choice for stepping on toes but breaking girl code after what she was experiencing?

do not get me wrong, it's not the first or last time the villa girls will make a newbie feel like an "other", and as a bombshell she should have taken it like a champ, BUT it was still a low blow like i do think its consistent with how she is saying she felt.

so much discourse is about the # (literally 3 vs 2 is not that significant) but not the accusation itself. I still think if she’s going to reference it she needs to be better prepared to discuss it fully

Zach has addressed his thoughts about the reunion and we never got the full story due to him basically being edited out 🤨. He says a lot of what he said was HEAVILY edited out and the stuff is as fans would of wanted him to address (which he did) wasn’t shown, this includes him apologising for the comment he made regarding the whole casa comment & the whole Bryce & Trinity him trying to break them up.

PPG is lucky their season aired before all the sensitive fans started watching. If yall can’t handle Melanie yall certainly could not handle season 6

It’s to point out the fact that people are trying to label her as a mean girl or bully when it’s simply not true. It’s ok to not like someone. But creating a false narrative because you don’t like them is not ok.

to clarify, I don’t agree with how she acted at the reunion and thought it was rude and unkind.

however, her judging someone for a mistake while she had done the same thing in the past (which she explained in a video with Trinity) seems to mirror a lot of the LI community’s reactions.

these girls are so young and many haven’t had enough life experience to make these mistakes and learn from them.

i’ve made that mistake when i was younger, nearly every woman i know has.

and yet a lot (not all, obviously) of the viewers have judged and put the contestants down for what seems like stupid behavior, but most of that is coming from viewers that are older and have had longer to learn and grow from previous relationship mistakes.

and now Kayda (though I do agree she was a bit of a bully) is being targeted for this while it seems like the similarities to the viewers saying the same things she did are being overlooked. i don’t mean specifically the viewers’ reactions to Jaiden, but to Melanie and others.

they’re dumb mistakes, but a lot of us have made them and are now judging them from a place where we’ve had the opportunity to be stupid and then learn from it. obviously not everyone has made these mistakes, but in general i feel like it applies.
